Can’t wait for the Zavier Simpson era to be over. Having a PG who’s so weak he has to shot put style shoot the ball to get it to the front of the rim... maddening.

That’s been a recurring theme. Can’t believe how many shots this team misses from point blank range and when wide open from 3.

Team is fun with a healthy Livers. Seems like they could be prime for a s16/e8 run

Livers staying healthy and Wagner playing like the 5* talent that he really is (like he did yesterday) is the key to winning it all. Nobody is better than us when that's happening.

With the improved defense, the biggest constraint on this team is the iffy shooting. If they're hot in the tourney they could go deep, if they're not they'll get bounced the first weekend.

Could end up being a disaster, but count me in as really intrigued by a lineup of

Simpson
FRANZ
Livers
Johns
Teske

Austin Davis will return

That’s fine, Davis is a solid player to have on the roster.

If Christopher commits and Todd sticks, they’ll have to have Jace Howard walk on and lose one player to a transfer iirc. I’m sure the whole world assumes Nunez is gone.

If Greg Brown wants in things get tight.

Seems like it would beneficial for Nunez to transfer anyways. Hes not going to play very much if he stays.

Roster construction is weird business. I'm still not used to virtual free agency.

DDJ and Castleton gone. Castleton makes some sense, though I would have expected him to get some time just from having a year in the system and two years in the weight room over Dickinson. He's also obv far more mobile than Davis. DDJ is a head-scratcher, even if Christopher comes he was still going to be at least a 20-25 minute guy. He may want a more guard focused offense and a chance to really be the alpha dog, I dunno.

Saw something on twitter that Todd told someone in an interview he was still coming. Won't be a sure thing until he physically arrives on campus but at least that's good news.

Probably not getting the guy from Harvard but I assume a grad transfer guard is still something they'll want, the back court is thin, man.

I'm a CHET fan second to no other (except ReddBoiler) but holy crap is Diabate a great pickup.

Will believe all these guys are real when they're signed and on campus, but if they all stick this is one heck of a class.

LOL at no posts ITT since November

Did you guys enjoy Mike Smith running the full Xavier Simpson offense in the 2nd half as much as I did?

Yep. It's just one of those games man. The game everyone fears in a one game elimination tournament where key players **** the bed. This loss is gonna hurt forever. Way worse than losing to Kentucky in the E8 to that BS shot. When you're a 7.5 favorite to go the the ****ing Final 4 you gotta close.

Would be nice if true, guard is definitely the weakest spot for next year's roster. If he doesn't come back I would imagine they'll be kicking a lot of tires in transfer portal looking for a lead guard.

Michigan friend of mine said Chaundee isn't returning. Anyone read anything similar?

Nope. Haven't read or heard anything definitive either way.

The only one we're 100% sure on is Mike Smith not coming back, since he announced. My very uninformed opinion is that Franz and Livers are 95% to go, Davis 70% to go, Chaundee 50/50, Eli 70% to return.

I'd be curious what Davis's future plans are -- if he doesn't want to try and play overseas or move on from basketball he'd be great to have back as more or less a playing assistant coach. He probably wouldn't average 10 minutes a game but would be great to have in practice.

Okay, Chaundee confirmed gone. Looking vey likely for Brooks coming back.

Brooks confirmed back, Davis gone. So once Franz declares they'll have at least one scholarship available for a transfer. Bring on PortalWatch.
