Great win. I think a key was only shooting 16 3's today. We worked the ball inside to Sims and Manny was agressive taking the ball to the basket. I would liked to have seen Vogrich get a few more minutes. He gave a little spark during his brief 2nd half playing time.

agree. Thats how we have to get Sims and Manny fresh involved in the game. My only real complaint would be rebounding. Ohio State dominated the offensive glass 17-7 which gave them a lot of second and sometimes third chance shots.

What an abysmal first half at Penn State. 31-16. 0-12 on 3-pointers. I don't recall too many performances this bad from the '08 team. It's one thing to shoot poorly, but the lack of hustle getting back on defense is inexcusable.

And a really sick comeback. We go from down 15 at half to winning by 9. Defense looked good in the 2nd half finally.

What heart. PSU looked like they put it on cruise control, but that doesn't take away from Michigan playing with fire. Any team is going to look better when they start hitting some shots, but the defensive intensity was very good, and Sims was an absolute monster for the 2nd consecutive game. If we don't pound the ball into Sims on a very regular basis for the rest of the year something is wrong. Kudos to LLP, too. He stepped up with some clutch shots.

The first half was awful, what I saw of it: it was like they decided to have a Tim Donaghy contest to see who could jack up the worst three-ball and not get yanked from the game.

Apparently Beilein didn't even give a halftime speech. I've only had that happen once, and it meant we were in trooooouble.

Just when you thought it was safe to believe in this team again, they do that. 3 turnovers in the final minute..just terrible. I have no idea why we stopped getting the ball to Sims in the 2nd half. He has been unstoppable lately. Eventually we have to start hitting 3's, but today wasn't that day. The usual 7-23.

I think they've got to win 2 of the next 3 to get back on the bubble. If they get 1, it will be another nice win, but they'll be 11-9 with 10 to play, and they would have to go something like 8-2 down the stretch and probably make a little noise in the Big Ten tournament to get in.

So I know some wild eyed dreamers out there are looking around trying to imagine us getting into the field from here, but it's still an incredible longshot imo. If the basketball 3 pt shoot gods want to smile on us for a week and make a couple extra fall, this next week would be the week for it.
