2 3 run homers from gordo today

i gotta say watching the broadcast and then seeing the player x 2 run HR (9) on the bottom of the screen from a diff game is the most depressing thing about watching the royals play

This team sucks and the GM needs to be fired. Not wasting any more of my precious time or $ on them until that happens.

There needs to be a rule or something for MLB owners that if they fail to make the playoffs for 20 years, they are forced to sell the team.

What is it about the Royals that makes supposedly talented minor league players perform so badly once they reach the majors? And then get worse. The team OPS has dropped each of the last 4 years. And that is with the same core of players. Hosmer, Moustakis, Gordon, Butler, Escobar and then adding Cain and Perez the last 3. How is it possible for the hitting to get worse as they reach the age when they should be peaking?

It has to be management and coaching.

We had what was regarded as the best farm system ever at one point, but we're not seeing anything from those players in the major leagues. I'm curious to see how Wil Myers turns out in Tampa Bay.

What’s your take on this year's Royals? Participate in our poll and share your comments.
People need to chill. They’re 24-28, and with one more win they will have their most victories in May since 2003. 28
Sure, they’re within four games of a wild-card spot, but getting swept by the Astros at home sounds some alarms. 102
Alarms? This is a baseball red alert. The Royals can’t hit, can’t pitch and now their defense is failing them, too. 189
There’s no accountability with this civic embarrassment of a ball club and it starts at the top. Sack the GM and manager. 346

Dale Sveum moved to hitting coach

Quote:
Sveum, a former Brewers and Cubs manager, had been serving as the Royals third-base coach. But he also has plenty of experience as a hitting coach, helping Milwaukee finish in the top three of the National League in homers in each of his three seasons.
WTF Ned? If Sveum is a better hitting coach than Grifol, why wasn't he there to start the season? Or why wasn't he giving input during the season even if his title was 3rd base coach? It seems to me that Ned just likes to give jobs to his buddies regardless if they can do the job or not. That alone should get him fired.

And listening to his comments after the game last night pissed me off even more.
Quote:
“You know if we could shut all you guys (in the media) out and only deal with playing the game inside this locker room, or insulate it from all that, it would be better …” he said, not confrontationally. “But that’s not the way of the world.”
Hey Ned, the reason that the you and the players get paid as much as you do is to deal with the pressure of the media and the fans. I bet if you gave all your salary back, you could go coach high school baseball and not have to deal with the expectations that come with being in the major leagues.
