Greear, it's not fun or funny or in good spirit or appreciated by anyone. You must be a pretty pathetic person if this somehow brings you joy. I'll go back to ignoring you now. Just wanted you to know in case of the 1% chance you think this is actually some sort of good natured trash talking that everyone gets into. But I'm pretty sure you know that and you're just pathetic. Carry on.

I think there are 3-4 ppl I've ever met on 2p2 that I wouldn't shake their hand if we met IRL. Greear is on that list.

Suspicion confirmed - 100% douche. Just needed to find out for sure. Maybe I'll come into the Lions thread and belittle you for your team's 40 years of futility. Oh wait, that would make me a complete loser. Maybe I'll just go down to the homeless shelter and make fun of poor people instead.

Will someone in KC please explain to me why with a team playing legitimate ball, and a starting pitcher looking for his 8th win with a sub 1 ERA, only 16,000 fans show up to the game?

It was the first home start of his that I haven't been to. Not sure why we had such a low turnout, but there are no more than 2 million people in KC metro area. They should measure attendance based on % of populace instead of outright numbers. Although we are averaging almost 22k fans so far, not good but not terrible.

You're obviously the right guy to talk to.

What's the general buzz about the team in KC? Are people indifferent? Is there any kind of hype about Grienke? Does it seem like people are just waiting for the bottom to fall out again?

From my outside but still somewhat familiar perspective (Grew up in St. Louis, lived in KC for a couple years when I was young.) it always seemed like the KC fans were anxiously waiting for something to cheer about - now they have something they can build with and it doesn't seem like they care.

I grew up with the Royals when they were good. The last 15 years have been a raw nerve.

It's been a painful 15 years for sure. People have been dying for this team to be good. Now they have someone, Greinke, who is just insanely good. That was the only start of his with below 30K fans there. I'm not sure what happened honestly. The crowd is really getting behind him so far and rightly so. We've been getting loud when he has 2 strikes, standing in the 8th & 9th, etc. It's been a welcome change.

I'd say it is a cautiously optimistic vibe about this team and Dayton Moore. Most people probably expected about 75-80 wins this season and it looks like they are still on that pace. I was hoping they could be over .500 and contend, but without Alex Gordon we might have to wait another season. Some less optimistic fans are just waiting for the wheels to fall off. This team is clearly an upgrade over Allard Baird's teams, and should be the best Dayton Moore team to date. I don't think the wheels are coming off, but we'll have to battle to be a .500 team.

Our attendance has been low the last 15 years relative to other teams, but fairly high when you consider KC metro populace is the lowest in the AL. Meaningful games should draw 30k, which is almost 2% of the city!

MY numbers might be a little off, but Iread somewhere that Royals attendance is up 16% compared to last year. Over all MLB attendance is down around 5%.

I think attendance was down for Greinke's last start because the weather wasn't great and it was a Tues night. Once school's out we'll be getting a lot more people out to games.

just because your in last place and 7.5 games behind the division leading detroit tigers is no reason to stop showing support for your team.

Royals are teh suck right now. 6-22 in their last 28 games, how terrible can it be. Despite that, this **** ass division is still wide open. Hopefully KC still pwns in interleague play.

Anyone know much about Aaron Crow, other than him denying 3 million and sitting out a year?

You guys start losing and completely stop posting in this thread. Pretty poor show of support imo.

What do you want me to post? Jesus, we suck, bullpen blew it again. I hope I have better things to do then post about another Royals loss on 2p2.

We also got Wil Myers in the 3rd round, which is crazy, considering he was expected to go 1st or 2nd at the latest. I wonder what his problem was/is.

So you have better things to do when the Royals lose...but not when they win? Solid theory. I just think its a little pathetic tbh. I mean I post more when the Tigers are losing I think. I already made the 2009 thread for the 0-16 Lions. I just can't relate to Kansas City type of fan I guess.

How does that not make sense? MLB is amazing, but the season is so much more interesting when the Royals are playing well and winning. I guess I would rather not post about their debacles day in and day out when its going crappy. I have already put a lot of energy into this team and somehow they're sitting in last place today. If the players aren't going to cry about it, why should I?

It's hard for me to give a **** about this team when they don't seem to care either.

We all know that post count is indicative of how good a poster you are and how many times you post in a thread is a direct indicator of how big a fan you are.
