Just got home and had a great time at the game. We got to the ticket window late and they were sold out of GA, so we bought some upper level seats for $10 each. As we entered, they still had some of the stadium replica statues so I was able to score a mini copy of the K that looked like it was painted by a kindergartner with finger paint (pic to come later). The plan was to just hang out in the outfield areas. So while watching the game in front of the right field fountains, we ran into some friends and hung out with them down on the Pepsi Party Porch. Even though we got beat, we had a blast. The money saved on a ticket was spent on overpriced beer. After the game we hung out in the parking lot consuming more beer and did a little bar hopping to finish the night.
I can't rave enough about how cool the new stadium is. The next game I go to will be with a big group of friends spent tailgating early and making a full day of it.
also thursday day game with Greinke pitching I will definitely go to. I maybe am going to Tuesdays game as well. Possibly my last Royals games of year (it will make it 5 or 6though) because going to vegas and moving to LA for whole summer. If we make a race of this my degen ass will probably fly out in late september to go to a homestand or something. go royals!
I'm too old to hang at the cool places. We hit the Granfalloon, the Point, and finished at my bar, Lew's. I prefer the neighborhood bar where everyone knows my name...and I get lots of drinks bought for me.
Thurs would be a great day to go, but I have work lined up this week. I really want to get out there for a day game.
I'm glad I decided to put off watching my movie and give the Royals a chance. Nice comeback! looking foward to another Rany article about how the Royals do not win these games
Meche is only a 1.25 to 1 favorite tomorrow, so it's more like a 30% chance of a sweep.
Pretty neat comeback, I had bet a couple games including the Royals, and I saw they had made it 5-4 in the 9th, but with 1 out and noone on, then Olivo gets on, then the DeJesus triple. Anyone else pretty baffled that you don't intentionally walk a guy to 1st to set up a DP that could end the inning, maybe you even load the bases so you have a force at home on a slow hit grounder, but pitching to Bloomquist is by far the worst option IMO.
went to the game by myself because my friend is lame and ran into two different groups of peeps I know. really large crowd and party-like atmosphere. too bad the bullpen couldn't hold on for Greinke
