Fine with me.

It's ridiculously expensive to go to games anyway, so let them leave.

Two beautiful things on that play:

1) Mahomes doesn't even wind up or take as many steps as he could have. 70 yards in the air and he's clearly got more in the tank.

2) Hill outruns 3 ATL defenders at basically a jog.

In other words:

Just a nearly 40-yard-flick for a tight spiral on 3rd and long in maybe the highest leverage spot of the game.

It appeared Mahomes was destined to follow in his father's footsteps as a professional baseball player, until an unexpected road block emerged when he started playing football at Whitehouse High School in Upper East Texas. He spent his freshman and sophomore years as a safety, and had to be talked out of quitting by his mother, Randi, because he wasn't allowed to play quarterback. After winning the signal-caller job as a junior, Mahomes tossed 46 touchdown passes in his first season under center. He was even more exciting as a senior, when he threw for 4,619 yards, rushed for 948 more, and scored 65 total touchdowns. He had thoroughly fallen in love with the sport.
I'm not sure my high school football team scored 65 TDs total my junior and senior year. And we win Missouri state 5A every now and then.

Impossible not to think about the potential of this team with Peters. Oh well we should be in for a fun season. Andy Reid is so much better than all the other coaches in our division it’s absurd. I didn’t realize how much we have destroyed this division over the last few years...17-2? I’m ready for Brady and Ben to gtfo but it sure would be nice to beat the goddamn Steelers at some point. Maybe we will sign braushad breeland who knows

I was on the road listening to the Chargers broadcast (thanks Siruis), and it sounded like the Chargers' receivers dropped a bunch of passes. I wonder how much effect that had on the outcome.

I think our offense is going to be fine, but I'm not so optimistic about the D. Would be nice to have a shutdown corner...

14-0 on the road in Pittsburgh with 9:08 left in the first.

Pretty good start.

This is crazy. Maybe the league will figure us out, but right now this offense is actually better than 2003/2004.

I'm seeing this take in a few places. What is the league gonna catch up to - covering Hill, Kelce, Watkins, Hunt and everyone else at the same time?

Will the league adjust and cause some problems? Sure. But it's not like Mahomes is out here doing this all on his own with pedestrian talent. We've got 4 skill players at the absolute top of their games and a head coach who's one of the best offensive minds in NFL history.

Alex Smith had a career year last year with this offense w/o Sammy Watkins.

Hell Elvis Grbac would have a great year with this offense - kinda like he did in 2000 when everyone was just wide open all the time - throwing for 28TDs and 4k yards. Don't tell me the league just couldn't adjust to Grbac's brilliance. They couldn't adjust to TG and Derrick Alexander running wild and getting open all the time. TRich was a beast that year too. Grbac went to the Ravens the next year and couldn't do ****.

Well, if the offense didn't score so fast, the defense would be more rested.

The wife and I are flying out to KC in November for the week 10 Cardinals game. Any tips on tickets? Do they tend to get cheaper or more costly as the game gets closer? Though I guess that could depend on how they're doing, which right now looks very good for you guys...not so much for us. Talk about two different offenses. Am I best off just keeping an eye on StubHub and NFL ticket exchange, or do any of you have any other recommendations?

We already have our airbnb lined up, just southeast of the stadium and easily within walking distance. A friend of mine who lives out here now is from KC and will be back there for this game and we'll be meeting up with them for tailgating, so that part is covered. We get into town Friday night so have all day Saturday to do whatever. Any tips for things to do nearby? Good BBQ spots or anything?

Sorry for the list of general questions. Just trying to get going on planning this trip and now that we're a couple weeks into the season, my excitement is growing.

woot woot

Last I heard, Jack Stack Martin City is Zagat's #1 rated BBQ joint in the country. It's prolly about 20 miles str8 south if you're staying very near the stadium. Chicken, beef burnt ends are 2 of my favs there, but you cannot go wrong.
