Q39 BBQ all day.

But there's tons of good stuff. Oklahoma Joe's, which is Joe's KC now is great too.

LC's is my fave and is relatively close to the stadium.

Danny Edwards on SW Blvd is amazing. The Big D sandwich is my all time favorite BBQ sandwich. But he's only open for lunch Mon-Sat.

LC's is really good, proximity to the stadium is a plus.

Jack Stack is also very good. There are a few of them throughout the city. The one on the Plaza might be closer than Martin City. I've been to both and both are good. "Jack's Best" platter is a ton of food but if you want a good BBQ experience, it's probably the best single meal I would recommend.

Arthur Bryant's is also very good. Their sauce isn't as thick or sweet, which I think is kind of a plus.

I think Q39 has good sides but to me, their meat isn't as good as others'.

Q39 has the best ribs imo. Rosedale's maybe close second but I don't like their sauce as much. Love the crinkle fries though. The ubiquity of fries is one of the best things about KC BBQ imo.

Dump off on 3rd and 8, first contact is at the sticks from a help defender. Romo says, “that’s what you need to do, make them tackle you.” Also known as a Terrance Smith sighting

On the bright side Cam Erving is my fav Chief teammate. He’s always there to congratulate dudes. Seems genuinely happy for success and is there to literally pick guys up. Also has been damn solid at guard

Pretty sure there’s been a 5 game winning streak each year since big red has been here

Just grabbed our tickets for the Cardinals/Chiefs game. Oddly enough, mrs_outlaw and I won't be sitting beside each other. We were hoping to grab first row seats on the Cardinals side, but they were all 350+ and climbing. Found 2 singles in the corner of the end zone in the first row of different sections for 115 each. One is on the aisle, the other is the third seat across the aisle, so close enough with only two people between us. It's possible people around us will work with us a bit to be by each other. If not, we'll still be just fine.

Which end of the field does each team typically warm up on at Arrowhead? We're in 106/107, the corner to the left of the Cardinals bench. Just curious who we'd have down there pregame.

So so so looking forward to this trip!

That would have been a sweet game to steal. Even without the records Mahomes’ lore is growing

Obviously bias but chiefs looked like the better team. That was in Foxboro vs elite game planners and tacticians. Dear spread offenses, please figure out a way to move the ball foward not laterally inside the 20. Chefs left extra red zone points on the board and still scored 40+, amazing. Defense was undermanned from a pure bodies standpoint, never mind it’s two highest paid players, and played about how you’d expect. Let’s hope for a Bob Sanders-esque return for #29

Pats gave up no penalties (shrug) and held onto well designed big plays for key moments. Seriously when they throw deep Brady puts so much air under his throws + the ball placement puts so much stress on the DB; an already a great 50/50 ball seems to get an inordinate amount of PI calls too. I’ll give credit where it’s due and assume they’re seeing stuff from coverages / how the secondary is playing and exploiting it. The overall attention to detail and in game time management is their biggest and least heralded advantage

Health, weather and 2/3 of the season remaining makes playoff forecasting kinda meh since neither team will look / play the same in the next matchup, but damn if we aren’t more talented than they are. Unfortunately skill no longer reigns supreme and in game coaching of negating / putting talent in situations to succeed has been the success behind the best schemes

Fearful of what may be defining then as it was now is having the last possession. Given roster attrition and lack of physicality to combat end of game fatigue, defenses basically have no chance of stopping offenses between the 20’s. I wonder what the numbers will look like for game winning drives and end of half points this year. Prevent defense was bad in the 90’s, now it seems like if the offense doesn’t score in those situations they’re the ones that messed up

Buckle up, its going to be a fun year!

The Chiefs could defeinitely have played better, and could have won the game. The Patriots looked like they played very well and were pushed to the brink in order to pull out the home win. If there were such a thing as a moral victory, that would be it.

Can we at least get the Chargers thread renamed to "Waiting for Mahomes to retire"?

Broncos and Raiders aren't close.

We weren't going to go undefeated, and at halftime, it looked like we were going to get blown out. But they played a good second half and made it a really fun game to watch. We get them in a rematch in the playoffs in Arrowhead, we can beat them.

Our defense isn't going to be good. The only way they are going to be decent is if Berry suddenly becomes healthy and in game shape, and Houston returns to form. I'm not going to hold my breath.

I'm not expecting a Superbowl this year, but next year we could be the favorites if they add enough to the defense.

In defense of the defense, specifically run D
Linebackers are not just plugging gaps anymore, they’re thinking, chasing faster people
Whether by rules or the exhaustion of being physically big and running at peak burst, defenders are no longer imposing physical dominance over offenses. The reverse is true and it’s offense that’s excelling in end of game scenarios
It’s hard for guys to line up for 80+ snaps while sacrificing their bodies every play by blowing up the hole and stacking blockers
F=MA and these dudes are bigger / faster than ever before
We’re seeing injuries on plays that didn’t used to happen
On some level they’ve gotta be playing with more hesitation and making those ‘professionals’ decisions
League wide offense has sped up and defense has to process more / exert more
There’s a lot of factors going into why tackling has suffered

What’s easier to diagnose is the front 7
There doesn’t seem to be very much lane discipline
It looks like guys are goin all over the place, creating open rushing lanes by exploding upfield and getting shoved out of the play
Without knowing it seems like the scheme is relying on guys to win their matchup > working as a cohesive unit. Call it parallel to what packers fans complain about with their receivers routes vs being schemed open

All this said, hopefully they’ll figure **** out and make some noise in the playoffs

Our ILBs are the weakest link, then safeties, then after that everyone seems at least league-average-ish - with a big plus pass rush if Jones, Ford and Houston are ever healthy at the same time.

I really don't see why we don't bring in DJ if he's interested.
