Dude,

How old are you ?

Lucky you.
I started following NY sports in 1976.

I have had more heartbreak than jubiliation.

Obv Sanchez makes a great throw and OPI brings it back.

This is why I want Clemens to start the year. Our O-line sucks at pass protection, so Sanchez will get LIT UP against some of the pass rushes we will face early in the season. We're just gonna run the ball 35 times a game anyway, so sitting Sanchez won't stunt his growth THAT much.

Haha, I remember that punter from ESU. Thats great.

Edit: Now I have a real reason to go to Jets camp this week, to see Parrish punt.

first off, really dont understand why they didnt come out throwing with clemens and under 1 min left in the 2nd quarter. starting with a run on first down and then throwing on 2nd? made no sense whatsoever, clemens makes a bad throw.

clemens played solid afterwards, the td throw to clowney was pretty sick, off his back foot in the face of pressure. he also had a nice dumpoff to greene later, twisting his body in mid air to make the throw.

sanchez had 1 good play, the td to leon. aside from that it was pretty much what you'd expect against a good defense. quite a few plays demonstrating inexperience; the botched handoff, staring down a short read, and overall just showed his timing was off.

i think the qbs did a great job of again not separating themselves. yet again, clemens would have a gap but cant avoid the int. also his better play was obviously against the ravens 2nd unit. i dont think ryan can make a decision yet.

and oh ya Leon was awesome, id like more plz k thanks

Sure you all know it, but Sanchez named the starter for this season this morning.

Good decision long - term imo. But beware, tis going to be a little rough for the first few weeks. At the end of the day, the guy is supposed to be the future of the franchise, to start and win something over the next 5 - 6 years (all going well).

Clemons has now had two successive seasons where he has been unable to win a wide open starting berth in training camp. Has failed to convince two different head coaches that he is good enough. Let's stop wasting time. He will do as a back - up for now given how well he knows the system and team by this stage.

I was going to stop by the practice today but, first it was absolutely nuts packed and driving home from practice was miserable, second I'm exhausted ha. I'm definitely going to hit it up tomorrow after our practice.

Last year was not a wide open competition for starting QB. Favre was playing no matter what.

He had been losing the competition with Chad before the trade.

Sanchez being the starter = 6-10 season (knock on wood for something better obv). He looked terrible and our schedule is super tough. Like I've said before, the Jets could easily go 0-4 in the first 4 weeks and Clemens would have been on a short, unfair leash anyway.

Plus with Ghosttown starting for 4 games, major fail for the defense. Mike DeVito as the likely starter for Ellis, major fail for the defense.

Yup, going to be an extremely lean year. At least I have no expectations to be dashed (unlike last year ).

Just got back from the practice facility, wow is it nice.

Drive in from park avenue into the business center called "the green" and follow it back to the Jets parking, my dad was with me so we got to park in the handicap section. They have shuttles take you from the parking lot over to the fields, they are there what seems like every other minute very nice too(its a short walk as well but you do enough walking around the shuttles are nice). When you get dropped off you enter through a little gift shop/tent and on the other side there is a big lot full of stuff for the kids, blood donations(free tickets to the Iggles-Jets preseason game if you donate!!) a little food spot.

Prices didnt look awful 2 bucks for a soda(err 2 "tickets" had to buy 10 tickets which cost 10 dollars so you had to spend at least 10 dollars) 4 for a pizza and what not, was pretty good. After that you walk around one field(a grass field) to get to the 3 others, 2 practice fields that were grass the third had lights and from what I can tell was turf. I didn't bother walking over to the field that the practice was on I stood off on the 2nd field side with less people(i saw everything fine, binoculars woulda helped but it was fine).

As far as the practice I was there for little over an hour watching. Saw them go through blitz pro, pass pro, 2 minute, inside, 7on7, 1on1 pass pro, goalline, punt, and extra point. Some good stuff was Kareem Brown catching a pass on goalline over a LB(didn't get his number but a guy near me said it was Kobel).

Cotchery making a 1 handed grab over a DB. Stuckey catching a TD pass but getting a flag thrown on him and Lowery started going nuts(he was on the sideline, Stuckey scored on another DB) ran over grabbed the flag and threw it at Stuckey. Leon Washington then juked Lowery out of his jockstrap and the whole facility went nuts.

Overall I had a great experience, I yelled at Jay Feeley a little bit and I didn't see Ken Parrish(the ESU punter, was he cut?). The facility is beautiful, I wish they had donated more of the fields to my local high school but that is not here nor there.(they really don't use anywhere near the whole land, it just woulda been nice).

Either way, everyone there was friendly, I got into with a few Jets fans but everyone just was having a good time. Had a few people come up to me cause I had my coaching attire on which was kind of cool and I tried explaining the 1on1 pass pro and what happened each time but these casual fans were way over their heads. I definitely recommend that facility to see a practice, especially after they get the stands in.

Edit: Went onto the Jets website to see that #9 is Ken Parrish. On the roster they handed out its TJ Conley but they have Parrish's picture on the website. Should update their rosters, missed out on a chance to heckle a former rival!

that first quarter was ugly. too many crap penalties, lito sheppard looked awful and was consistently abused by eli. steve smith dropped what should have been a long td. the pass rush was picked up almost every time, eli had all day. sanchez looked lost and it was all 3 and outs aside from the short td drive

2nd quarter got much better though. avoided penalties, sanchez with 2 very nice plays to stuckey. the first where osi was way offsides and sanchez still avoided him. the other again under duress and lays it perfectly to stuckey who made some nice moves to find his way into the endzone. dustin kellers blocking wasnt bad from what i saw

I had a difficult time watching last nights game with pro Giants coverage.

Its a preseason game, I do not take that much stock in them.

Jets signed TE Ben Hartsock after he was released by the Falcons.

I like this signing. Hartsock is a blocker, and a blocker only, and that is a spot the Jets needed. I don't feel so bad about the TE depth now

Last year of his contract but he is under team control for technically 2 more years as a RFA due to the CBA issues. For whatever reason I don't see him pulling this garbage with Rex Ryan. No idea which way to go, but it isn't an auto-decline.
