Yea but Woody comments "'We'd love for Revis to come back" Not like he said Were going to sign Revis and offer his 39M GTD lol....Revis still had to make his decision and NE still easily could of picked up that option. Manish article is pretty stupid. I mean he even admits that its tampering. Also not saying they are equal by any means but in an article where he calls the Pats petty for reporting someone for breaking a rule against them, should he then not call the Jets and Colts petty for Deflategate/Spygate rather than bringing them up as a knock on the Pats.

IMO filing the charges was a no brainer, you have good chance to hurt your division rival who should atleast lose a pick and you have a freeroll of moving up ~26 picks in some round.

First, regarding the Pats tampering with Revis when he was with TB: You do know that TB had him under contract for multiple years? The Pats couldn't make TB release him, and I'm not sure there was any reason to suspect TB was going to release him until they started trying to trade him and failed. This was after Talib was already gone IIRC. And TB released him with no intention of trying to re-sign him from the open market.

Everybody knew if Revis didn't get extend by the Pats that he would become a free agent because they were not going to pay the 20mm contract and 25mm cap hit for one year. But the Pats wanted to retain him. They let the option expire with every intention of continuing negotiations and trying to retain him.

Regarding the bolded above: The rules say the balls must be presented to the refs for inspection, and that tampering with the balls after inspection is against the rules. The rules also say that balls should be removed from play if they are not satisfactory for game play, and that they should replaced with back-up balls. Furthermore, tampering with the balls after inspection is subject to punishment.

I do not believe that the rules mention anything about the team being responsible for making sure the balls stay above the minimum pressure after inspection. (And science says a lot of times this would be literally impossible.) The only requirement is that the balls are not to be tampered with post inspection.

The league precedent set THIS YEAR for tampering with footballs was to send a memo to the team telling them not to do that any more.

So yea if NFL gonna follow what they did to Lions then take away one of our 7th and would they really swap a 4th since we don't got a 5th or 6th? and the slotting is that far off differential between NYJ and NE slots? thats a bit drastic its not like its a difference of like 5-7 slots its 26. What would be a reasonable penalty is like a fine of like 50-100k (That's a lot)... loss of 7th rounder and maybe like 1M salary cap deduction. Yes, if the Pats are found to have tampered with the footballs post-inspection they should face some kind of punishment. Short of that, then no. They are not responsible for keeping the balls within the specs after inspection.

If we got Rivers, hypothetically speaking we destroy NE and IMO its not even close. Our defense is already a top 3 Defense. We upgraded at WR by adding Brandon Marshall and thus allows Decker to be his natural #2 WR. Also my (Top 25 WR ) in Kerley jk. And Amaro I feel will take strides to be alot better. Plus we got the draft. Maybe Amari Cooper? Vic Beasley?....Should be interesting....Also dont forget we upgraded the OLine by adding a run stuffing beast in Carpenter.


I think Bills are one of the best teams in NFL if they can get a QB. I think theyre #1 in NFL If they got Rivers (which wont happen. Rex clearly doesnt believe in needing a top QB. All he cares about is Defense! LOL). The AFCE got so much better this year.


But again this is stupid to debate on this. Jets need a QB desperately. We are built to win now.

Jets are middle of the pack in the NFL if we cant upgrade the QB postion but if we got like a Rivers or Brees like some reports out there are saying can be postible for the right price, we would need Mariota to falls to us to trade to SD/NO, I think that automatically moves us to the top of the pack in the AFC easily.

You think maybe adding a Wes Wleker would be good for the Jets? At this point in his career I dont think he is much of a starter. Plus the concussion concerns....Id rather Kerley over Welker 9/10. But I think Welker can add depth and would prob only be like a 1yr/3M.

NYJ should just put him on their payroll. He really is our "unofficial" mascot. He gets the crowd going huge. Especially when I was there it would be bumpin'!. NYJ should just pay him with free season tickets obviously, plus like a measly 1k per game to help cover travel expenses and for his work he puts in during games and promoting the Jets. Also limited comped food & beverages each game ($100 limit). If he gets offered that I think he comes back in a hot second.
