had a great time at the game. first half was ughhhhhhh but in the second half lambeau was electric and was awesome watching rodgers try to put that team on his back.

lotta people had ridiculous favre related costumes and that was awesome. wayyyyyyyy too many vikings fans in attendance.

unfortunate they lost, but i expect this from them and the vikings are good.

not gonna do a TR cause i dont feel like it, and i didnt really get that many good pictures anyways.

just rewatched the game on nfl network replay:

jolly's headbutt has to be one of the worst penalties i've ever seen. probably one of the worst football decisions ive ever seen.

atari bigby is god awful.

i couldnt find a single good thing to write about the first half. 3 weeks in between favre-ageddon's to get healthy and the first half mirrored the game at the metrodome.
the packers got 2 huge breaks in both games with the matthews fumble on ADP and the grant "fumble" that wasn't called or else both games could have been even worse.

i was thinking how sluggish the team always looks and how they never seem to play a complete football game. Bedard's article says it perfectly.

knock on wood...while this team still commits way too many penalties to do anything late in the year, i have been impressed when the turnover ratio. arod does hang onto the ball a lot longer than he should, but he's pretty good at not giving it away (cutlahhhhhhhhh)

thought this would be a game to see if the team belonged in that second tier group of teams in the nfl. i guess they could slide into the 6th playoff spot, but i think they're in a spot where they need to win 4 in a row. wins v. sf and dallas would go a long way.

very disappointing game.

i feel this team is talented, so its gotta come down to coaching. every week they look unprepared and lack discipline. mccarthy has to go.

+1 TT has to go too. Bottom line, they treated this game like some preseason game, thinking they just had to show up and would win. I mean the whole rotation of the line during the game, knowing they would rotate during the week. It was like they said, "ok this is the game we use to decide who are line is going to be the rest of the way." They forgot one thing, this isn't preseason, this game counts and you have to win.

This 3-4 scheme really isn't doing anything they weren't doing last year! They still get turnovers and make plays (although I haven't checked numbers, but I think less sacks this year) but they can't stop the other team when the game is on the line.

And sorry to say, but the same holds true for the offense, they look great the first 50 minutes of the game, but can't get it done when the game is on the line!

Rodgers has the a better WR core than Favre ever had IMO, so of course he is putting up the numbers. Even beyond that I think Rodgers is well above avg QB with a long career ahead of him. But my buddy who watches the games with me said, "while Rodgers looks great in games, but while Favre and Freeman are making plays, Rodgers just isn't" He just means they won when it counted and so far we haven't seen that with Rodgers yet!!!

I agree. There are too many coaches sitting around that are much better than McCarthy, some with Green Bay ties. I think the Packers with their young team and good organization would be an attractive job for guys like Cowher, Shanahan, Gruden.

i dont understand the TT hate. its not like this team isnt talented. he put it together. they are young and getting better. he has done a terrible job assembling and offensive line but thats it, every other position he has done a great job at.

also, rodgers did a great job of making plays last year, so i dont really know what thats about. the packers had an extremely impressive 2 minute drill last year, and this year. the problem is on the defense, or special teams.

the line is the most important part of the unit. O or D. if they can't rush the passer or stop the run on D, or open holes or stop QB from getting sacked. Matt Millen used to forget about the Oline as well!!! Lots of Talent outside of the line on the Lions in Millen era!!!

What kind of 2 minute drill have they had that was good. Last season like 5 times the D blew it, as they did Sunday, and the O couldn't answer any of the 5 games, (Ten, @Min, Car, Hou, @Jax, @Chi) when there was over 2 minutes in 4 of the 5. No different Sunday!!!! 2 of those were OT games but all of them the opposition scored last, with well over 1 minute and some had over 3. I don't remember much about Chi and the circumstance, but Ten I remember the Pack failed in regulation to move the ball.

Last season the excuse was the Defense blew it, the reason why Sanders was fired. This season people are saying the same as you just did, "the problem is the defense, ST, and Oline, not the offense" but the Oline is the foundation of said offense which is where the problem doesn't exist. Does not compute!!!

what do you guys think of the notion that rodgers is to blame for some of the sacks. definitely seen him hold the ball some, granted i've only seen a couple packers games, and i've seen it suggested by a few different places

100% agree. dont think there is a single thing to blame on offense and everything (coaching/playcalling, o-line, rodgers) need to take some responsibility.

play calling i think is the #1 issue at this point but maybe thats just me. its a lingering issue and hasn't improved. obv the o-line is bad, but it's not like teams haven't had bad o-lines before. throw in extra guys to block, design plays so rodgers can get rid of the ball quicker, etc.

going to watch the game when its replayed on nfl network because to this point i still have no idea how the hell tampa bay scored 21 points in 11 minutes and how the game was even close to begin with

+1 here. I just think there is no leadership amongst players either. No one is holding other responsible. Yes, coaches, but their just should be players that are leaders as well. Every team that is winners has one (if not more) for every phase.

They have tried to throw in extra guys to block and that hasn't worked either. That is a key reason to signing Green, because he can block. Although, I may be wrong here but I always though Jackson has never gotten a fair shot. I don't mean running the ball either, I mean as a blocker.

ARod's clearly to blame for some of them. The line is godawful, but Peyton would have half the sacks this year.

Have a bad feeling about the Dallas game. Pretty sure Ware is going to pick up about 2,000 sacks in the first half. Puts playoff hopes on life-support if they can't pull this one off.

Dal
SF
@Det
Balt
@Chi
@Pit
Sea
@Ari

..probably have to go 6-2 in that stretch for a WC spot? Looks grim.

Agree that B-Jack got shafted, but that's what happens when you can't stay healthy I guess. I have always liked him, think he runs hard.

Before the season started I thought they would have to be 7-4 or 8-3 heading into December (super weak schedule ftw) because I thought they could very easily go 0-5 or 1-4 in that stretch.

The Tampa Bay game is just inexcusable, but it happened. If they want any realistic chance at a playoff berth, they have to go 3-0 to finish the month. I understand they're only 1 game out, but as much as the Packers are underperforming, so are the Eagles/Giants and I expect one of those teams to run off a couple of wins in a row. Too much talent on both teams to not do so.

im tired of getting into it with packers fans about ted thompson...but if you really want to....

we have the youngest team in the league again this year, eventually this will change and this team will grow and will get better.

linemen dont just fall out of the sky, its not like TT isnt drafting them, he clearly is. everyone seems to think that he isnt doing anything in free agency, well...lol @ that. who were we supposed to pick up, when? and really do you think they fit our lines scheme? TT has been active in free agency, just because he hasnt signed a guy to a ridiculously overpaid contract doesnt mean he is not out there exploring possibilites.

also, who do you plan on hiring to replace him? he is one of the best gm's in the nfl.

TT had to clean up holmgrems mess in seattle, so dont even bring him up again.
grudne has never gm'd and neither has cowher, but hey, im pretty sure whoever gm's the browns will be available next year.

We do have the youngest team in the NFL for the 3rd str8 year and it will stay that way because TT wants it that way. I never said anything about FA but it isn't just this year it was years past as well. Favre adamantly wanted Randy Moss and TT said, "he doesn't run the team" but look what Brady did his first year with Moss. Such a joke.

One of the best GM's in the NFL? Cleaned up Holmgren's mess? Neither one of these can make sense because in order to be the best GM you don't make it to the playoffs only once in 5 seasons. 2nd he never was the GM in Seattle. Thompson served with the Seattle Seahawks as their vice president of operations from 2000 to 2004.

As for Gruden or Cowher, I think they are mentioned for coach, not GM!!!

You can have your opinion as you wish. But facts are facts.
