This just in, when you have a terrible offensive line and everyone just stacks the box because Godgers is out, it makes running the ball very, very difficult.

Lions run D is pretty solid. Also, Matt Flynn

9-6-1 won't be good enough for a WC so it comes down to the division. They need Detroit to go 2-2 and the Bears to go 3-2. They do play the Bears again so they really only need the Bears to lose one of the next four games. Detroit is at Philly next Sunday so that will be one of the games they'll have to lose. Fire Capers.

if we don't both beat ATL (regardless of whether Rodgers plays) and see DET lose to Philly, shut down Rodgers for the season and it's not even close. I know it's getting cute but I would honestly start Tolzein vs. ATL and keep track of the Detroit score. if detroit might lose bring in Rodgers . If detroit wins you shut rodgers down. period

I wouldn't call it "cute" so much as basic game theory.

I would call it "over-thinking" you play your studs when they are healthy. Period. Especially when you still have a chance.

This... I mean Detroit is an underdog this week. Get kind of lucky and win and Detroit lose and you are 1 Detroit loss away from controlling your own destiny again. I'd be pretty surprised if Rodgers didn't play this Sunday.

Please just shut down Rodgers for the season. PACKERS NEED SOME PLAYMAKERS. Aside from Jordy and Rodgers literally everyone can be replaced. And don't give me the bullsh*t about Clay, he has been a scrub since his deal, spends for time washing his hair than on the field. I am suck of Ted Thompson drafting sh*tty players from the p*ssy state of Cali, these guys can't hack it

Yeah if we could only keep Cobb or Nelson it's pretty close honestly.

His pursuit has been solid. I think it's really bad to scrutinize an edge rusher in a six-man front. An NFL defense fielding two DLmen on most plays is gonna look bad up front, no matter who the edge rusher is. I like that Dom has him stunting more to create matchup variables, but still doesn't make up for the 5-on-4 pass rushes when there is never a decision forced on the OL.

I think both ought to be kept. The OL, front-7, and secondary are really only going to get help through the draft anyway. GB is always going to have a tough time bringing in FAs. It's crucial to hold onto skill players under 30 with speed.

That said, Cobb's injury is a tough one where guys take a year after surgery to start looking "back to normal". I think both Jordy and Cobb are restricted after 2014, so there is time to make those decisions on how healthy they are at that time.

Extending Jordy now would be important, though, if you're picking one of the two for whom to do so. I don't mind extending both, only if Cobb's new deal doesn't re-structure 2014 and is incentive-laden; his body requires that attachment to a deal, but, of course, the price for that may have to be a longer-term deal to spread some bonus.

Nicely said. I agree. Let jones walk. Pay jordy and cobb.

I wasn't suggesting we should get rid of either Jordy or Cobb. Just saying it's not clear to me who's better, in response to someone saying Rodgers and Nelson are the only playmakers on the team.

Rodgers out this week in case anyone didn't hear the news.

I'm coming around to the view of just keeping him out the rest of the year, assuming we lose this week.
