Why in ****ing hell do we still have Jared Bush. He is the worst player in the entire NFL. I was watching the replay of one of AZ's touchdowns and in the play two receivers were running short outs to the right and were covered well. Breaston (I think) was running like a 10 yard slant and Bush was waiting for him 10 yards out. Instead of holding still or anticipating the slant, Bush turned his back and ran towards the receivers on the right. Breaston caught it and walked into the end zone.

If even I know what the offense is doing there, how does he not? He cost is the NFC Championship by trying to scoop and score two years ago in the championship game, and if he would've fallen on the ball GB would've had 2 min to score from midfield. He could've easily fallen on it.

Get this ****wad out of GB and let him ruin some other team.

Epic game through. Broke my phone by slamming it on the ground.

What a fight though. I thought they were dead when they were down 31-10. That onside kick was the most perfectly executed onside kick I ever saw. Rodgers was brilliant in the second half, but so was Warner. When the Pack tied it at 45, I said "that's too much time". They missed the field goal and it was just like 08. We won the toss. We get a costly turnover and in 2 seconds the game is over. As Packer fans we're getting used to it though, amirite?

+1 on that everything from the kick to the blocking to the recovery. You can run with it and he easily could have gotten up and ran, but did the smart thing knowing all we wanted was the ball not yards.

it helped that the Cards were not even remotely thinking about it.
I don't even think hardly anyone was blocked.
bad coaching on the Cards part...seemed obv they might trying it given the way the GB D was playing

What a game. Not even all that upset with the outcome.

I'm SHOCKED no one on the AZ staff saw the onside kick coming. Watching the game after they scored I said they pretty much have to onside kick here.

Knew the defense wasn't #2 overall good, but wow. That was embarrassing. Offense should remain in tact for the most part for next year. A-Rod is good.

Draft to improve the lines + a young corner who can learn from Harris and Woodson = Super Bowl contention next year imo

don't forget we need some safety help!!! I know Collins is a pro bowler, but he sucks against the run IMO!

A part of me died when Rodgers overthrew the first play in Overtime. All he had to do was float it up to cap an epic passing game.

I would be rooting for the Vikings even if Favre wasn't on the team. Yes, I am rooting for Favre, but I always root within the division, when my team is done. Like rooting for the Big 10, I just have to do it.

GTFO. NEVER root for a division rival (Unless them winning somehow helps GB, e.g. get GB into the playoffs)

Oh, and Favre can burn in hell for all I care.

Go whatever team wins the AFC. There isn't a single team left in the NFC I can root for.

True, nothing really against the Saints and would rather see them in the SB than any other remaining NFC team, but I'm just tired of hearing "Who dat?!" over and over again. I want to see the Jets or Ravens win it, at this point. The Jets, especially, for the extra lol. Favre can't make the playoffs with this team, but the rookie QB wins the SB.

Just for rules clarification, the kicking team cannot return a recovered onside kick, unless it was fumbled by the receiving team.

no onside kicks are total live balls. You can not however, advance a muff.

4. A kickoff is illegal unless it travels 10 yards OR is touched by the receiving team. Once the ball is touched by the receiving team or has gone 10 yards, it is a free ball. Receivers may recover and advance

You missed the line right after that.

A kickoff is illegal unless it travels 10 yards OR is touched by the receiving team. Once the ball is touched by the receiving team or has gone 10 yards, it is a free ball. Receivers may recover and advance. Kicking team may recover but NOT advance UNLESS receiver had possession and lost the ball.

that line in particular describes a muff. Why else would it say "had possession" you can not advance a muff. KO's are live between 10yds past the spot of kick and the end zone. Live for either team.

haven't you ever seen a player catch the OSK and run without ever breaking stride, and they gave it to him at the spot he has gotten tackled.

As the way above is written it seems a little contradictory. One line says, Once the ball is touched by the receiving team or has gone 10 yards, it is a free ball. Receivers may recover and advance

then the next line Kicking team may recover but NOT advance UNLESS receiver had possession and lost the ball.

see what it looks like having the bold in a different spot?

I know it is live and can advance though. Reason why on said play the receiving team still had to down the player.

I can see how you're interpreting it, but the way I believe, the term "receiver" is referring to the "receiving team". It wouldn't make sense to call the players of the kicking team "receivers", just like you wouldn't think of players of a punting team as "receivers"

A quick google of "onside kick + NFL rules" also shows a couple links backing my interpretation, however, the NFL has not released an "official" rule book for us to see, and thus, nothing 100% official shows up.

Oh, and no, I have NEVER seen a player of the kicking team catch and run with an onside kick and it not be call down where it was recovered.

Packers fans should know you can't advance an onside kick.

To the best of my recollection:

A few years ago, don't remember who they were playing, but they attempted an onside kick with one second, recovered it and no time went off the clock and they had time for a hail mary.
