Actually talking about our catcher position, I think youd almost have to bring up Alex Avila if you brought anyone up to replace Laird, even though hes only 22.
He's hitting .300 in Erie in 23 games with an OPS of .860

i can't watch this ****. 4 straight innings leadoff man on base, get a guy to 2nd with <2 outs, nothing to show for it. galarraga getting crushed. this game just got demoted to gamecast in favor of the magic celtics game.

Layland hates Josh Anderson or what? A few games ago I was thinking how absurd it was that he wasnt getting a shot against LHP, but now he has him on the pine half the time VS righties too. Idiotic IMO.

I really, really, ****ing really want Gerald Laird out of this lineup. He makes Adam Everett look like a stud at the dish. And to think we actually traded something to get this guy lol. If it was more then a few BP balls im gonna have to give a wtf to it.
Seriously though, thoughts on getting Avila up here sometime soon? Id rather struggle with someone who has a long future with us then a stopgap who will be hitting .180 by the end of the week with no power.
