I like this Dawel Lugo kid. Handles the bat decently, good instinctive baserunner. I haven't checked but I'm sure he's a much better defensive 2B than Goodrum.

Any details about the Mario/Rod fight? I read ITT years ago that they didn't like each other, but living on the Left Coast, I never heard any details.

This team could put anyone in a bad mood, but you'd think both of them realize they're not getting hired anywhere else, so they'd be on their best behavior.

Details were pretty hard to come by. I've read that Rod wouldn't let something go and went after Mario, ended up getting him in a choke hold. But no idea if that's true.

Also: Highly enjoyable watching Candalerio launch a 102 mph fastball ftw last night.

I am starting to get tired with Norris. The guy was rated 60 as a prospect. That's what Mize currently is. Yet Norris has been nothing but a failure. His delivery looks terrible, his changeup is a joke, he lost at least 3mph on his fastball and he is barely playing at all. Could it be that the Blue Jays screwed us in that deal big time?

Oh boy, now Fulmer has lost his fastball. Going down from 98 to 90 is massive and it cannot be fixed by mechanical adjustments. He has to get knee surgery and will miss at least half of the season.

They watched him putting too much pressure on his upper body in order to compensate for the instability of his lower body. That eventually led to arm problems where the weakest link is always the elbow. Now he is going to have TJS and will miss the whole season. On the other hand, you don't want another Norris either, where the guy never pitches because he is always injured.

Since I am convinced that pitchers usually don't need minor league instruction, I would call up Mize.

Now Jacoby makes a diving play in a spring practice game and hurts his shoulder. Earl Weaver had his player do an IQ-test, maybe we should do that too. If they perform in the low 80s, just explain them the obvious stuff, like never take the risk of injury when it clearly doesn't matter at all.

It matters once it counts for the official statistics. You can play on losing teams and still go to the HoF after all, although that's obviously not a concern for Jacoby. He will have trouble staying above the Mendoza Line.
