If they sign a couple of Don Kelly types and washed up middle relievers to league minimum contracts in the offseason though it might be time to give up on baseball entirely.

Note: Ausmus has Presley bunting in the 1st inning with Boyd on the mound. This was an interesting decision, because it only makes sense - if ever - in a low scoring game. The final score was 0-2.

I have never seen a better fit for DH than this guy. He can't catch, he can't throw and unfortunately he can't run the bases either. His ceiling is .250 with 25 HRs and that's good enough to hit cleanup for this team.

And the Ausmus era comes to an end. It was a fun 10 years we had watching competitive baseball for a while. Maybe I'll watch again in a couple more years if they can rebuild, but I have zero faith in this whelp of a GM. This collapse was an inevitable outcome of firing Dombrowski and replacing him with one of his underlings.
