Not sure they may trade JV for a dozen baseballs and a cup of mud. Obviously Avila is just trying to get rid of contracts and he doesn't even care what he gets in return.

The problem is that's the right play. If you actually look at it from right now, we can't really tank until like 2020 because Upton/Cabrera/JV/Fulmer will be enough to keep us out of the top 5 in the draft. So if we start tanking in like 2020, that starts our rebuild and our window might reopen in like 2025.

So guys that we draft right now will be like 26-29 depending on if they're HS or college guys. So obviously we want to draft well and build talent and get good value guys on their first contracts, but it's almost pointless to stockpile prospects right now because if we can't jettison JV/Miggy then we're not gonna be able to make use of somebody like a 23-year old prospect right now, because they're gonna hit Free Agency by the time we can compete again.

Fulmer on the DL. He throws a slider, it's no surprise. They should do the surgery now, so he is ready for next June.

When the first straight pitch came in at 87, I had a bad feeling and it didn't get better. After the third HR he should have faked an injury.

It's sad that JV loses the no-hitter on a grounder to Castellanos. If you look at the replay it was tough, but not impossible to field this ball. That's the problem with Castellanos. He barely makes the routine player, but never the great plays. That's why he must be moved to RF or DH once V-Mart calls it quits.
