I came in to say congrats for the Prince - Kinsler trade and I get welcomed by having to read Shandrax post??? I would love to see Det keep Miggy at 3rd and get Loney to play 1st. I also pretty much can't stand the Tigers, so there's that as well.

They can't afford him, that's all. He hit .299 in his second season after getting traded to the AL which makes him way too expensive for such a small market team. The Rays are known for making something out of nothing, but they are certainly not known for contract extensions.

Loney was a major reason why the Rays made it to the postseason. Nobody can argue about that.

We need to find the best possible solution. If Loney gives us more value for the money than any outfielder or thirdbaseman on the market, we better take him.

Players who make the Rays (or the A's) starting lineup are always interesting, since they are overperforming their payroll on a regular basis. Evaluating talent is their bread and butter.
