Thanks. Please be done for a long time. Or atleast until Everett places his next hit and run right in the vacated infielders position like he was trying to do lol.

It's stuff like this that makes me just laugh at how little you understand baseball. Please, just go ask any high school coach in the country what they teach their hitters to do on a hit-and-run.

I had one of the best HS coaches in Michigan on our staff. Never once did he tell us thats where you put it on a hit and run. He hardly ever used hit and runs because he knew the play was -EV compared to him just letting us hit.

First Adam Everett is that good...now High Schoolers are that good...lol

So, going back to pwning mjw. Lets look at some advanced metrics and see why Inge, Miggs, and CG get the benefit of doubt and we jump on Everett, Laird and Maggs.

Weighted Runs Created
Miggs 36.7
Inge 29.3
CG 26.1
Maggs 16.7
Everett 12.4
Laird 12.4

No, the point was that any HS baseball coach has enough basic baseball knowledge to tell you what to do on a hit-and-run. Obviously, hit-and-runs are rarely called in high school, because even the best high school hitters don't have the bat control to do it.

Unfortunately for your argument, even the worst MLB hitter in the league has the bat control to send the occasional ball to the right side of the infield when they're asked to.

I was never trying to argue that Maggs, Everett, and Laird have been better hitters this year. Reading comprehension is key.

What I said was that given an isolated at-bat when a walk is produced, the reactions are entirely different, which is unfair to those guys.

More leeway is given to good players. No one minds when Kobe misses a fadeaway 3. Everyone is pissed when Ben Wallace shoots one.

Not to mention, we are still making fun of you for saying that was a good AB.

MJW it isnt unfair when you look at the REASONS WHY THEY GOT THE ****ING WALK. Maggs didnt foul off tough pitches or anything. He swung right through 2 fastballs and the pitcher then missed with pitches not even close. WATCHING THE ACTUAL AT BAT IS ****ING KEY BRO.

This is where I just disagree. The analogy doesn't really translate. I'm not expecting you to agree at this point. Everett, Maggs (nowadays), Laird don't have the same bat speed so I expect them to swing through some fastballs. I'd just rather them work the count and get the walk. When Cabrera, Inge, etc. do it, they have less of an excuse. It's about expectation vs. performance to me.

That ball was crushed, but Fowler's recognition of the ball has been pretty pathetic today.
