wow i cant crunch the #'s but g10 has EV. they playoff like 22% times aorn, make the ws 40% and win it once they are there 5%.

Just wondering about Mize and his 6.99 ERA. He is not exactly lights-out for a no.1 overall. The Sox just brought up a guy who throws 101 while we selected Spencer Torkelson. He'll better be good, because the starting pitching clearly is not.

By the way, I'd probably give the managing job to Don Kelly. He is used to taking the blame. Guys who struggled in the majors make good coaches, because they worker harder than the natural talents and tried out pretty much everything to improve. Sparky was hitting .218 in his only season for the Phillies.

Mize will be fine. Unlike past “prospects” he can locate and get guys to swing and miss. Getting a little seasoning in a season without expectations will turn out to be good for him I think.

Probably just the pool of players who struggled is massively larger than the natural talent. The skillset required to hit big league pitching is significantly different than what it takes to manage a team.

Cool! We signed a 29-year old righthander who came of a couple of 5+ ERA seasons. I like this "can't get any worse"-approach. Once you reached the bottom the only way is up!

I have mixed feelings on it. I generally like professional sports that tinker with the rules to try and make the game as entertaining for fans as possible. But having baseball adhere to a more traditional style is fun in its own way.
