We match up well with the Vikings. We should've beat them twice last year and we were a worse team and they were better.

I want them to lose too but at this point I'm still looking at the overall playoff seedings, not just games ahead in the division. Although maybe I should temper my expectations and just root for as much division win equity as possible for a team that hasn't won a division in 30+ years. But they are currently -425 to win the north. They can handle minny winning a surprise game.

If you get a lead tonight can you please see if Jamison Williams can play.... and no, I don't mean can he come down with passes 45 yards downfield. Give him some catchable balls, if he misses them then just keep hitting him in the fkn face with the ball until he does catch some.

I wonder how much Cousins going down boosted the Lions’ odds of winning the division. Seems like it should be substantial since the Pack and Bears really suck.

Lions division equity should seriously be approaching 100%. Like at least 90%. With Cousins going down a 7-10 record could actually win this putrid division and Lions already got 5 wins, 6 wins after tonight. Still hard to believe that the Lions division title drought is the longest IN ALL OF SPORTS. Damn. But that's over now. Lions were gonna win the division anyways but Cousins going down effectively sealed it before November.

That's how you know this team is different they can make some huge mistakes but still beat the piss out of a **** team like the raiders.

Decent game. They controlled the game but in the NFL turnovers are the great equalizer. They need to clean those up and I'm pretty sure they can be competitive with anyone.

Nice that they picked up a bit part in DPJ to replace Marvin Jones at essentially no cost. Brad Holmes is the best GM the Lions have had in ... forever?

Reading some grumbling about them not picking up a pass rusher, other than Chase Young I dunno who that would have been. And they did quite well pressuring last night.

That's was 100% Goff's best game as a Lion. He was as close to perfect as you can get on the day.

Speaking of draft takes, Michael Mayer just caught a TD for the Raiders. Anyone still unhappy with the LaPorta pick, both in general and over Mayer in particular?

For the most part Sutton has been really good at CB this year. Offenses aren't really even throwing his way, so he isn't really showing up on the score sheet, but he's been lock down. Keenan got the better of him today, but he's been quietly one of the best receivers in the NFL for a decade. He can route anyone out of their shoes, and is having one of his best years at age 31. I'm more concerned with the overall lack of adjustment and not giving Sutton some help because I'm not sure too many NFL corners can guard him 1 on 1.

This defense is still a player or two away. Maybe another outside corner and some edge help. They're 7-2 but the biggest disappointment has to be the lack of any pass rush outside of Hutchinson. A lot of guys we expected to be key contributors on the D-Line just aren't stepping up this year. Guys like Cominsky and Harris are just getting bullied and not playing with the same ferocity they did last season. They are pushing the pocket at times but not making that final push for the QB. It's not the end of the world, but they still need 1 good off season to avoid defensive performances like this.

As for LaPorta he's clearly the best pick they made in the draft. The dude is playing like a seasoned pro as a rookie. I don't think it's a stretch to say he's as good, if not better than Hock was (he's a better run blocker for sure). When it comes to day 1 and 2 draft picks I'm not too concerned about how good someone who went later is, as long as we get really good value for our picks. So far we are mostly doing that in rounds 1-3 so it's hard to complain.

Absolutely loved seeing Jamo, ARSB and Kalif blocking 60 yards downfield on the Montgomery TD run. Best part about that play might have been Deane Leonard taking out the Chargers safety while getting just enough of Derwin James to knock him off stride and keep him from catching Monty from behind

Even if the comeback doesn't happen or the game is basically over you never know what you might miss. I was with my nephews at a Pistons game once where they were getting blown out and I wanted to leave. They begged me to stay, and that game was the malice at the palace. So now I never leave early.

I missed the Great Lakes Loons all time biggest comeback down like 13-3 or something in the bottom of the 9th. tied it, went extra innings, they win

Ah the Jared Goff experience. It's been a couple rough games where they are getting beat physically on both sides of the line. Goff was under constant pressure and love had it easy. Hard to win games like that.

yeah, zero has changed for me. they struggle against mobile QB's and they have to keep Goff clean.

they're gonna be in the mix and could make a serious run, but some matchups would have to line up pretty perfectly. still a pass rusher and one legit outside weapon away. Jameson could be that guy, and has been trending in a better direction, but they need a legit big time guy outside.

The only thing that's changed is any hopes of having the top record in the NFC--however pollyannaish that looks in hindsight--are gone. But whatever who cares. Win the division, get a home playoff game, run hot. The main plan is still intact.
