the good - Suh and him are only two years apart in age, he's NEVER graded out negative in any of the advanced metrics for d-line, he gives us added flex-ability for our multi-front packages, and he comes in at less than 1/3rd the price of what it cost to franchise Suh. I'm cool with it!
the meh - there was talk that if the deal with us fell through he was going to be released and we could have went at him like that, but there were going to be other suitors which would've driven up the price. as it is now we have him for 1 year at 8.5 milly.
we're still gonna be a 4-3 base team. we'll play some with 3 down lineman and 2 down lineman like we did last year but it will be situational.
also hearing
- they're still talking with both Mosley and Fairley and expect one of them back. Fairley wants more years and money than they want to give em. they think he's over valued his market, said go ahead and see Cincy's pitch. they only want to give Mosley a one year deal.
- Fluellen will be back, they're just waiting to see what guys slotted around him end up getting. he played pretty good last year and is a low end 3rd, solid 4th DT who also plays a tad bit of D-end. Austin really moves guys in and out along the line so depth is crucial.
Not sure why detroit media is bashing the ngata move. He is badass and 1/3 the cap hit. We get a couple starters in the draft and we are right back where we were with more cap room and depth.
