I would like the Lions' chances a lot more if the Vikings weren't also super desperate to get in the win column. It should be a good game, both teams will be focused.

Probably came out when Schwartz decided to give up on the game by punting on 4th and short from the Vikes 40.

Shaun Hill may not be much of an NFL QB, but he's got some fight in him. Lions are positioning themselves well for next year's draft. Snag a top 5 pick and give em hell in 2011, Lions. Season felt like it was over in record time this year. Stafford goes down and boom, that's it (well that and Calvin not "completing the process").

The issue here is that a top 5 draft pick only does so much (LT please). We still need Stafford, Best, and Tron to get som mesh going. So let's get them back to lose some games together.

MIN is gonna be 1-3 after they lose to the Jets
CHI is gonna struggle to get to 9 wins
GB is clearly the class of the division but if we beat them today they are still only 2-2

I'm having such a hard time getting pumped up for this game. "We" just always play so terrible in Green Bay I don't think we've won there since I was in 5th grade or something stupid like that. I have so little faith I actually picked Green Bay in my Survivor League.

god damn we got ourselves a much improved team. It feels so good to be able to go to green bay and nearly beat them there. I say good job again lions. We need to get stafford back and keep battling hard and i'm thinking we are going to win a few games.

I am less concerned with their record than I am the effort and coaching. I think i would have gone for it on 4&9 because clearly if the packers can get the ball and have a nearly 7 minute drive and close the game, you can't really trust the defense, yet. We need to start taking these risks if we want to have a chance to have something to spark us.

So far, we have been IN every game and the wins will come.

Team is much improved. We knew the defense, especially secondary would be bad, but it was disheartening to have GB run the ball on us to end the game.

we need P. Patterson in this draft, bad.

the lions are 0-4, but it's not like the last two years. the last two years we were down 21-0 in the first quarter.

the lions SHOULD be 2-2 right now. CHI and GB should have been wins. If stafford is healthy, we are 2-2.

but, there is hope, even if this was a playoff caliber team, like a 9-7 team, that team might start out 1-3 given the schedule so far.

Even the secondary wasn't terrible this week iirc. On the TD pass that Rogers put in to Finley, you just can't cover much better than that w/o tackling the guy. The really frustrating part was all the penalties especially in the first half. Some were total bs, like the opening kick-off penalty and the unnecessary roughness on VanDenBosch, I mean are we playing football here or ****ing patty cake. But still, way too many penalties.

Agreed on the penalties. They KILL us so bad and it all comes down to discipline and paying attention. The penalties just have to stop. Especially the ones where we gain 35 yards on a run or something and then there's a block in the back or something else ******ed.

I can't believe all of this optomism. At the end of preseason I was telling people 10-6 and they thought I was nuts. They were right. "we" have been "in" 35 of the last 50 games. the wins don't come. they still won't. not this year, not next year, not the year after that. bad things will always happen. 1-15.
