what does everybody else think about smith anyways? i believe he's an above average player at the position (not significantly above avg) and totally fine as an every down player..

The Lions O line is still pretty bad. Way below league average imo. I think Kevin Smith is maybe just above the average line in the NFL. Very hard to extrapolate how he would do on other teams but I guess that is the best arguement to make cause I personally think he would be dangerous on a good team. If Calvin could stay healthy for a whole season with Stafford in the future it will really help him out. Probably been beaten to death on sports talk radio and the likes but Jeff Backus is just not a good left tackle in the NFL and has been just a glaring weakness forever.
Backus is having a career year from what I can tell. Pass protection has not been an issue at all the whole season. Run blocking is worse but doing a decent job. The offense healthy + Stafford year 2 should be significantly improved. Defense is inconceivably bad, how some of these guys are in the NFL let alone starting I have no idea. Delmas looks very good, Levy is a solid linebacker for a rookie (Levy/Foote/Peterson pretty solid)... the rest are lolz. Front four are a total joke.

I've heard rumblings that Shaun Rogers wants to come back to Detroit. Come on one time a front 4 including Rogers and Suh?
Defense we have 2-3 players actually worth a ****. The best being Delmas. Basically every position on D we are in massive need of, especially D Line.
Suh is gonna go #1....so kiss him goodbye. If we pick 2-5 I really dk who the **** we could take. Berry/Mays?? Our secondary would be on the verge of becomming pretty sick. Then pick up Graham/Dunlop in rd 2???
Don't know. But the tiebreak with Tampa Bay is crucial. They won't be drafting a QB, so the Lions need to win that tiebreak or they miss out on Donkey Kong Suh (if that's not his nickname, it should be).
I hope Stafford plays one more game, if his shoulder starts feeling better. Still want to lose but in a more competitive manner. Could have stolen the game today but that was more Arizona failing than the Lions doing anything. Delmas is going to be a beast.
How is Ernie Sims playing for you guys? Is he injured? I haven't even paid much attention to the Lions, only games I saw where Thanksgiving game and half of the Browns-Lions funfest, and no news. He could even be injured, no clue.
I don't think Dunlap falls to the 2nd round GREEAR. Scouts will see him in his bowl game and how the Florida defense is completely different with him, and his combine, and he'll go mid to late first. Plus, Dunlap is more of a 3-4 d-end then 4-3.
I could see the Lions trading up though. Grab Suh if they get the chance, if not McCoy. DTack has to be #1 priority. They could very well try to jump up from the 2nd round into the first for Donovan Warren if he comes out. 2nd best corner IMO in this draft (behind Haden), but he could very well go early enough, and there are some decent CBs available too. This draft is a make or break draft for the Lions IMO. Can really solidify themselves as an up and coming team if they draft well (which I suspect they will)
Ernie Sims was once the #1 overall recruit in the country coming out of H.S. That was pretty weird to me.
Anywho does anyone like drafting Okung if we have the 3-4 pick and trading back up to get Dunlop if it looks like he won't fall to us? You definitely have to upgrade the line in some form next year for Stafford.
