Nice drive.

Also why is Zenner getting so many reps. Did I miss an injury to Riddick?

So what's the list of weird rule/weird ref losses?

Calvin Johnson Rule
Schwartz challenge flag on auto-review that made it unchallengable (Thanksgiving)
Reversal of offensive PI call on Dez (Playoff game)
No call on Seahawks push fumble out of bounds in end zone (MNF)
10 second run off on auto-review

Am I missing any?

Super pissed but w/e. Can't really blame the refs for calling it a td, can't blame em for reversal. Annoying Stafford throws the ball short of the goal line there but it's so close I'm fine with it.

His knee wasn’t down. Not in a conclusive manner.

So tired of the lions getting games stolen from them.

Was he even touched after gaining possession? He was clearly touched before the catch, but after?

He was touched enough to be down by contact if his knee hit.

There wasn’t conclusive evidence his knee hit the ground. The view from behind looked like there might have been space between knee and the ground.

Put it this way, that call is never going against tom Brady.

The Sanu overturn was worse imo. I don't know what "indisputable visual evidence" means. Was his knee/shin down? Probably, but the camera is way above the play so anything close is going to look down. Sure rule him down, why the **** not, it's a television product anyway so what the cameras perceive must be true.

FWIW. I thought the Sanu play was clearly a touchdown.

If it's the right call (which I will concede it was) then get it right on the ****ing field. Instead they go no lube with the ****ing. They get another play off from the 1 inch line 100% of the time there if they make the right call on the field. I thought the clock and timeout management was pretty good, as they had it timed perfectly except for an arbitrary "**** the lions with a rusty pipe" runoff.

I'll add the Aaron Rodgers "facemask" setting up a hail mary to the list of weird Lion's losses.

As for giving Zenner reps over Riddick, they've pretty much kept Riddick off the field except for obvious passing situations, or game icing. They've rarely used him as a true RB, because when they've tried, he hasn't really done all that well. Not that Zenner has either, but he's been a bit more shifty between the tackles. RB is still the #1 need for this team.

I was hoping to see them stack up well with the Falcons today, but they still have some work to do. Injuries played a part no doubt, but if not for a few butterfinger WR"s that Slay turned into picks, the Falcons could've turned this into a blowout.

On defense I expected the line to struggle a bit, but was hoping some of these LB's would step up. Instead, they played pretty awful. Any time a safety is your leading tackler and the other guys average 5+ yards per carry, you probably lost. TO margin was the only thing keeping this from being a bloodbath. I give Quinn credit for trying to overhaul the LB corps by addressing it in the draft and free agency, but other than Davis all he did was trade scrubs for scrubs. As for the other Quin, that guy is a beast. A true free safety with a nose for the ball can work some serious magic.

On offense they still can't run and Stafford was out of rhythm the whole time. They were down to their 3rd string on the left side O-Line, so some challenges were expected. I actually think the O-Line did a decent job in protection, they just couldn't open up holes, and Abdullah couldn't really do much with what they gave him. Ebron is just the worst. I count about half a dozen losses now where his drops made an impact. I was psyched when they brought in new TE's this year, as I was hoping we would see a lot less of him, but he's still out there making mistakes at key moments.

I don't know how Prater keeps doing it, but my god that man is amazing.

There doesn't seem to be much point in talking about rookies today, as hardly any of them played. We might have a Tabor sighting next week as Hayden left with an injury, so if he can't go, Tabor likely comes in as the #4 CB.

Hopefully Swanson, Davis, and Wilson are all ready to go next week. Although Killebrew looks ready to take over starting SS duties when called upon, so at least that's one position we have some solid depth at.

Just a gut smashing lost. Our SB equity got cut in half at least yesterday

Our road to the super bowl now must include a win at Atlanta.

Let’s say we get on a roll and finish 13-3. We would need Atlanta to go 9-4 the rest of the way to finish beneath us. Just not happening. If we had won Atlanta would have to finish 14-2 to get #1 seed

We were obv the worst team and MLB was gaping on all those run plays.

But any realistic hope of winning SB this year was drastically reduced.

I apologize for posting earlier in this thread that I have seen the Lions lose every way possible.

A ****ing 10 second runoff following an officials timeout has to be the stupidest rule ever.

**** Blandino and his 'spirit of the rule' interpretation. The rule was put in place b/c offensive players were pretending to be hurt to stop the clock. Not so officials can huddle up to discuss if they made the correct call.

And **** him in the ass for doubling down on his twitter stupidity by stating 10 seconds isnt enough time for the team to reset and run another play. The Lions official twitter account responded with pics from the 2016 Minnesota game showing they got a play off in 7 seconds after the entire offense line had to run 27 yards downfield.

I feel staffgoat would have gotten to the line and successfully QB sneak for the win if the Tate was clearly a half yard short.

Alas, we are the Lions and this is what we live with.

The good news, team looked bad, was outplayed, should have won.

We are going to win a lot of games this year.

Yeah Atlanta is still a really good team. That offense is crazy efficient, not many defenses are gonna slow them down this year.

No line for Det @ Minn yet. I suppose due to the QB situation?
