Major draft position showdown next week against the Browns. If the Lions manage to lose that one, the Rams and Buccaneers will be the only other 1 win teams standing in their way. Maybe too early to ask this, but does anyone know what the tiebreak is for the #1 draft pick if more than one team is tied for the worst record? Multiple 1-15 teams wouldn't shock me, and the Rams, Bucs, and Lions have no remaining games against each other.

One of the tiebreakers is a coinflip, isn't it? I think they've flipped coins for like the 4th-5th picks a few times, not sure about #1.

Just watched the latest game. Good to see Stafford rebound from the 5 interception performance. He played well against the Vikes. No big mistakes. Solid accuracy. Calvin Johnson is clearly not right yet. 51 passes is too many but the defense needs to stop losing games so early. Stafford is going to be an excellent QB

I can sort of see clips on RedZone. The guy was like "I don't think we'll be showing anything from this game." That'll show him.

Late to the party on this (and it's probably irrelevant to some degree), but I'm pretty sure it's head to head, then worst strength of schedule.

I heard a rumor on The Herd that Stafford was going to sit on Thanksgiving ... Confirm/Deny?

No absolute way of Confirming or Denying as the Lions seem to be real tight lipped under Schwartz but Stephania Bell from ESPN and other people that report for Fantasy Football are saying he is most likely out. Bummer cause I for sure am going to be able to watch this game. Really wanted to see him again.

this guy is really testing my patience with his durability issues. I think if they game was on Sunday that Stafford would play. I was listening to Tony Ortiz a little bit on my way to work and he sounded like he thought Stafford had a better chance to play than Calvin on Thursday. Pretty disappointing cause I think with both of these guys healthy we would be in for a good game to watch.

FML, this might turn a watchable game that the Lions have a legitimate shot at an upset into a laugher in the other direction. I don't know how the Lions keep on pulling Thanksgiving Day games. In spite of the tradition they've just been terrible basically since Sanders retired and everyone else in the league complains about it yearly.

Tyty, for the link. I haven't seen it yet but I did read this teaser:

"Most dramatic player wiring ever."

It would be nice to showcase our dynamic young QB/WR duo to a national audience. People wouldn't groan as much being able to see these guys out there. I mean this season isn't very interesting outside of watching Stafford grow, we don't have many guys who will be on this team in 2 years anyways and our fate literally rests in Stafford's ability.

That game winning drive last Sunday was great stuff. You can't script that **** more perfect. I realize we had to come back down 3 touchdowns against the ****ing Browns which is lollllll but it was a classic moment and for one afternoon I felt the Lions had a future. During the Millen era this was basically non-existent. It would be soul crushing if Stafford didn't turn out to be a good player.

I just got out of a heated argument with my dad (yelling occurred) and I want to present the argument to you guys to get your imput. It's about Rod Marinelli.

My dad believes Marinelli is a bad head coach. I believe that the final verdict on Marinelli's head coaching abilities is inconclusive due to insufficient evidence.

My dad's argument is based on these assumptions which I accepted:

1) The Lions were a worse team at the end of Marinelli's tenure than they were at the beginning of his tenure.

2) The 2008 Lions were the worst team in NFL history.

Conclusion: Therefore, Marinelli is a bad head coach.

My argument is based on these assumptions (my dad also accepted them):

1) The Lions have one of the worst owners in sports.

2) Matt Millen was a incompetent President and CEO of the Lions.

3) Overall, the Lions had bad players.

Conclusion: Given the above handicaps, my claim is we cannot draw a valid conclusion on Marinelli's head coaching abilities from his tenure at the Lions.

So now I'm wondering which argument do you guys think is more sound?

He's likely not a very good coach, but you're right it's pretty hard to tell.
