Also. Ebron having an all pro year is more a shot against stafford than an affirmation that ebron is good

He would have had garbage numbers in Detroit in 2018.

If there is such a thing as a clutch gene, then there is an opposite of clutch gene, and ebron has it.

The Lions were turned down by many other candidates, but they finally found someone to take the job. Bevell was interviewed for the Falcons and Jaguars openings, but those jobs went to Dirk Koetter and John DeFilippo, respectively. Bevell will now call plays for defensive-minded coach Matt Patricia, who ran the offense into the ground in his first year on the job by putting shackles on OC Jim Bob Cooter and Matthew Stafford. As a run-first guy, Bevell fits Patricia's personality. The Lions will be better off once Patricia is out of Detroit.

Don't think the guys at Rotoworld approve of the direction of the Lions are going

Im not passing judgment on the guy quite yet, but in lol lions fashion, he is the guy who called a pass from the 1 yard line in SB 49.

So the Saints got absolutely hosed on a non-called PI, and I have a hard time feeling bad for them.

At least Saints fans didn't watch them throw the flag, then inexplicably pickup it up. Sigh.

I watched a mock on youtube. They mocked us the Tight End from Iowa. Such a lions pick. You know thats the guy.

If you don't think TE is a position heavily valued in Matty P's old school offense, I've got some news for you.

Mock drafts that happen before April are always sketchy. We know what the Lions needs are (go back a few posts for my thoughts). They will almost certainly fill some of those in free agency. That will tip their hand as to where they are going in the draft. If they go after Edge/DB in free agency, then TE is a real possibility. I honestly don't even like studying the draft much before FA is mostly over, because the number of permutations gets out of hand. I still think Edge is still the most likely pick at #8, but it's barely an educated guess at this point.

Time to pray that some other team falls in love with a guy and Quinn can trade down and add extra picks.

No reason to take a TE at 8 when he’ll be there at 23.

There is so much D this year. They cannot take a TE in the first round.

That’s a luxury pick for teams that don’t lick balls on an annual basis.

Pats defense DVOA last year with Patricia as coordinator: 31st.

This year with him gone: 16th.

I feel like we got scammed.

Lions D did a good job playing against the Rams strengths. Decent pass rush and run D, but garbage secondary. It took the Rams out of their normal run & gun style and forced Goff to make quick decision and short to mid range throws. Bears did it too. Maybe next year we can convert some of these moral victories into actual victories.

As of now Detroit is at 100:1 for next years SB along with Buffalo, Cinci, Arizona, and Oakland!?!. It seems like a good value pick to me.

The offense was a **** show, but with a healthy KJ, some WR/TE help, and a more coherent game plan, they can be good again. The defense was pretty respectable late in the season, despite some struggles in the pass rush and secondary, which is where everyone is predicting they will key in this offseason. They have enough talent in key spots, that they really are one good offseason away from competing.

Our division shouldn't be that bad. GB is still a one man team, and it's not clear how much he has left in the tank. Minny is a tire fire. Chicago is still going to be a force, but they have their flaws.

I'm guessing hes just saying that to get another team to trade with us if they want Murray/Haskins if they fall. It would be pretty interesting to draft one of those 2 guys though. Not sure if Murray is even going that high but either way its a good move for him to say that.

It's Murray time imo. I don't care if he's 5'4" or whatever. I know a messiah when I see one.

Draft Murray let Stafford play this season. Flip Stafford for picks next offseason and have tons of cap space. Lets do it.

Ordinarily I would lol at the idea of anyone taking Staffords contract but if someone will take Flacbert there might actually be a market.

Yeah. The comparison to Russell Wilson is unavoidable, but from what I can tell Murray is faster and has a stronger arm There's a real chance he's gone by #8.

The Lions have the cap room to make some free agency splashes if they choose to this year. They could go after a WR. Going after Tate would be hilarious. I'm not sure if that's a realistic option. He chose to test the market rather than accept what the Lions were offering, and maybe it will backfire, and the Lions can get him cheaper plus the 3rd rd. pick.

Cole Beasley is a free agent, and while he's no Tate, he could provide some spark from the slot position.

Or maybe they get in on the Antonio Brown sweepstakes. I wouldn't mind seeing him a Lions jersey.

On the defensive side Landon Collins might be available. While Walker & Diggs are a decent pairing, Collins is elite, and it would be nice to see them go after top tier talent every once in a while.

We'll see if they go after a backup QB in free agency. My vote is Ryan Fitzpatrick. Smart guy, fun to watch play, and can provide a nice veteran presence at a reasonable price.

Only qbs I'd take would be Haskins or Murray. I'm seeing mocks have D.Jones going over Murray doubt that holds though. Going to be interesting to see how the trade market develops for these qbs as time goes on as well. We could possibly be trading down.

I dont want Gary if he falls. Watched a ton of Michigan football and Gary never impressed me. Dont care if he was double teamed I want to see more production. Hes going to kill workouts so he should go before we draft.

I do want Ferrell if hes there. That kid is a stud. Hes the type of guy that falls in a draft like this due to all the elite dline choices then a few years from now turns out being the best one.

I see Greedy Williams being mocked to us often. I'm not sure how I feel about him yet. Guess im ok with it but would prefer a qb or non Gary pass rusher.
