Cam had by far his best game of the season vs DET. He was awful on TNF tonight.

Looking back on the game it looks like Detroit really had re-tooled their defensive schemes to deal with cam and their running game. The play where Dickson was wide open was a pretty obvious blown coverage from a defensive look you don't see very often. Dickson was the only player releasing from the snap. 9 other players stayed back in pass protection, with one releasing to the flats shortly after. The secondary had to cover two guys on that play and couldn't.

They shut down the run and made Newton beat them in the air, which I think is the right way to play Carolina. They just didn't execute, and Cam is as good as anyone when he's given time in the pocket, and aided by blown coverages in the secondary.

The line Sunday is NO -5.5. I wonder how much of that is based on the possibility of Stafford sitting. It seems like a virtual lock he starts Sunday with the bye week coming up. It was less than a year ago we crushed them 28-13 in New Orleans. The Saints feel like the same team, while the Lions seem at leas marginally better. I like Detroit again. I don't think they hold NO to 13 again on 3 picks, but I'm good calling it a 27-20 Detroit win.

The same thing that has always been going on with this offense. No run game, poor blitz adjustment, and no ability to sustain drives before the 4th quarter. we have been watching this **** for a while now. The coaches keep applyong a traditional formula to an offense that doesnt have the personnel for it. when they finally say "**** it stafford, just do whatever" they come alive. This team has weaknesses. Yet the coaches just dont seem to give a ****, and keep doing dumb **** like running with abdullah out of the pistol or that worthless bellore/zenner formation.

To make stafford a GOAT QB you dont need a calvin johnson. He needs a Marshawn Lynch who can actually make plays out of the backfield. Abdullah is a good 2 or 3 RB but this team needs a playmaker back there bad.

Normally 4th and goal from the 1 I agree go for it is the right play, the only exception might be late in a low scoring game when it could flip the lead. Of course Caldwell ****s that up.

I would like to see them activate Tion Green at RB. Abdullah and Riddick are shifty scat backs and good receivers, but not true runners. Zenner and and Washington are ok 3rd stringers. At this point they have nothing to lose by changing up a run game that is basically nonexistent.
