It's not going to be that simple, there are all kinds of free agent rules that will come in to play when they set up for this contingency. Young players will be restricted free agents for more years, and teams will get two transition tags (or one transition/one franchise). There is also some new salary escalation rule... the basic result is that there probably won't be all that many quality free agents out there compared to normal. Plus the top 8 teams from the year before won't be able to sign a top FA unless they lose one.
The good news is that it probably cheapened Ware's deal, and guys like Miles Austin aren't lost to another team. JJ's not afraid to spend money but it might be a matter of just not having many great players available to actually spend it on. Not that there won't be anyone, but many will be overpaid guys or dead weight the teams just want off the books and cut (ahem, Roy Williams?). We don't need those, and guys like Brandon Marshall won't be an option since he's now a RFA for two more years.
You just kind of have to hope that a lot of owners are busto enough to let some top players go. As of right now the FA class of '10 looks like ass.
