Loved the game overall tho. Not excited about the 49ers. Would peobably prefer the Eagles but oh well. Hopefully we can keep it close and have a chance to win at the end. If Dak plays like that again I'd say we have a good shot.

Kellen Moore gets some head coaching interviews after this season, right?
Dan Quinn is good as gone !

Any recommendations on where to stay, what to do in Dallas for 2 nights, one of which is TNF?

Breweries, steak house, sights? of interest.

First key question is are you going to the game? Is it a home game?

That kind of decides a lot. I found Dallas to be nothing like what I expected when I went.

https://www.deepellumtexas.com/ is a really cool part of town. I also liked Uptown more than Downtown.

But again in just 2 days you're gonna be picky, it's a huge place (specially if you're heading to the game).

Arrive Thursday am, go to TNF (cheering for opposite team), leaving Saturday morning.

I guess with breweries in mind you're going to be ubering.

You land at DFW right? I almost wonder with such little time if you're not better off doing Fort Worth on game day (and then going to Arlington for the game), and sleep in that general area. And then head into Dallas for your second night. That's actually what we did, slept in 2 different hotels. We had a car and it made sense. You with ubers it makes even more sense.

Lot of cool BBQ and breweries in Fort Worth https://www.papercitymag.com/restaur...-and-ambiance/ and you can do the Stockyards too. And then head to Arlington (you'll need lots of time there). Maybe try and sleep within a shorter uber from the game strategically.

Honestly reddit can help you there (both r/dallas and r/cowboys). Too much change since covid for me to be much more specific.

Fort Worth is awesome but did it the other year during March Madness.

I'm sure I'll be back to Dallas at other times. DFW/Chicago are the only 2 places with direct flights from the in-laws, so we drop kids off and fly to one of those for a few days. Haven't done Dallas proper yet. Basically a quick trip, but if any must see sights or steak houses, happy to hear it.

Thanks, I'll check reddit.

First Pre Season game bout an hour out

Looking forward most to seeing the battle for the #2 spot in the RB depth chart behind Pollard. Will it be Rico Dowdle or Malik Davis ? Davis showed a lot of burst last year on the few carries he received. Dowdle look good a couple years ago but got hurt last year.

Sadly seems like Mazi Smith won't be playin, hopefully some of these other big guys (DTs) have gotten a lil better

Oh Brandon Aubrey first real pressure as Cowboys kicker

Go Cowboys

Deuce Vaughn is legit ! Rico Dowdle and Malik Davis looking decent too, the correct decision was made with finally cutting Zeke. Probably a year too late tbh

I don't know how he can be the RB2 really. I'm not even totally sure how he makes the 53, although I guess he might.

If he can't play special teams, his entire existence is going to hinge on being able to pass protect at 5'5. Otherwise any time you put him in it's so easy to scheme against. Dude was really unlucky to be so small, and landed in a tough spot where special teams are spoken for. Seems like he's destined to just always be on the fringe.

Lance trade was interesting.

Vaughn will be in the mix, Dowdle will be used as the more power change of pace. Lance trade was just bad, kid can't play ... Cooper Rush is significantly better

Couple surprising cuts in Malik Davis and Isiah Land, I guess Deuce really did make Malik expendable. Land showed some serious pass rush skill so I hope they find a way to bring him back, he might not clear waivers tho.

The rest seemed to chop out about as I expected

That was nasty. When the new K missed the first XP my life flashed before my eyes. Was raining like crazy and he settled down, so we'll give the young man some time.

Tough to really talk about the offence in a game like that where the rain makes things so squirly. I think Rico being the Rb2 makes sense. Wonder if Jerry goes and gets one more vet RB as the year moves on.

The D though, let's talk about it. Godamn. If Gilmore is actually still a player, this could be an all-time Cowboys D (just maybe). If the D is a 10/10 and the O is a 7/10 and we get GREAT coaching, we could win the division. My concern is counting on great coaching from fat Mike. Maybe.

Feels like the Eagles games are going to be bonkers.

They do still have Ronald Jones, so I don't expect any other moves. Rico is good

Gilmore is still a really good corner, he was top 10 last year in Indy and looks the same this year. The defense is still soft in the middle tho, worries me when Philly and SF will pound it ...

Parsons and Pollard are elite players who can carry the team if we clean up a few things (short yardage blocking and run defense)

Dak can be a solid bus driver !

I thought 255/2 with no INT against THAT D was more than just a solid bus driver.

It's funny Kellen Moore leaves and suddenly he stops throwing picks (yeah Sauce dropped one). But this offence seems way more suited to him.

I don't think they're going to resign Pollard, because winning teams don't give running backs more than 10M, which is what he is going to try to get. The top 10 RB's make between 7M and 15M. Outside of Pollard's tag (which fits in there), there's not a championship team among them this year. I'm all for drafting a couple though. Micah's money is coming soon, keep investing in the D and online.

That throw was terrible and shows why he is a bus driver lol ... staring right at it, double clutches, still throws it lols

Has less INTs than every single starting QB right now. A lot of good QBs are already at 2 or 3 INTs. Let's see a full season of this Texas Coast offence. He could easily finish with a passer rating in the 100's, 10+ wins, and a top 5 O. If so that's no bus driver.

He is literally the definition of a bus driver. He wins a lot when he is under 30 attempts and has a terrible record over it. He is not accurate enough to carry throwing it 40 times a game which is well proven. With all that said happy to have this version of the offense over Kellen Moore's ...

He's completed a ridiculous 71% of passes so far this year. I guess we'll see on the accuracy comment by year's end. His WR group past Lamb is turbo trash though. He deserves much better.

A good year for Aikman completion-wise was usually 63%. He had six seasons under 60%. Romo had some blistering seasons around 68-69% and he also threw some bonkers pick totals. Although I think we all agree if Tony had this D he'd have at least one ring.
