Really hope to see them get to 4-0 in the division tomorrow. I need a decisive win to see them as credible squad. Too little out of too many established starters this season especially on defense, guys we’ve seen play better.
They’ve got a pretty tough stretch from here, definitely need to get more done in the first half. They’re in real danger of ending up at .500 if they don’t. Honestly I’m surprised MIN is a 3-pt dog and yes I’m factoring one that Cowboys are home.
That said I think Dallas is definitely underperforming and have room to get hot. LVE needs to get back out there and play like he did last year, DLaw can step up, etc etc. Not saying that will happen but at least the potential is there. Although maybe ST is another story they just don’t seem to have that sorted.
Eagles schedule is cake. We are basically going to be forced to beat some teams better than us to get in.
But at this point player for player compare Dallas and SF. They're better coached. Imho soon we gotta call a spade a spade. This roster is better than this.
I don't know, I thought it was encouraging that they were right there just off Dak's arm. It's just discouraging that they abandoned what was working on that last real scoring chance. I hated the back to back runs on 2nd and 3rd down... Yeah, let's do what hasn't been working all night in the moment when the game is on the line.
As much as I question a few play calls, the defense and other things, I kinda have to question Zeke’s lack of production. Sure, Minnesota made it their focus, but 2.4 ypc and 0 first downs for a healthy, all-world halfback? They adjusted the hell out of the pass/run ratio as it was.
I don't think you can put it all on Zeke. The guy just never had room to work. Credit the Vikes D-line. It didn't look like we were capable of moving them around as much as we usually do.
And going back to bad coaching... How awful was making Tavon Austin fair catch that punt? I get that they wanted to conserve time and there was only about 17 seconds left. But shouldn't the direction have been "Fair catch unless you have acres of room in front of you." Which he did. He quite possibly could've set them up on the 20 or 30 with two legit shots at the endzone.
To be fair, part of the huge cushion he had was because he called for the FC so early and everybody slowed down, but point taken. The instruction shoulda been "just run straight ahead and go down, don't do something dumb like run sideline-to-sideline to pick up an extra 4yd or something".
Taking ~10yd in ~3sec in that spot is never not worth it, unless the clock is gonna expire while you're doing it.
Ya those runs on 2nd and 3rd were legit terrible when you are dicing them up.
But this is my exact issue. Gallup/Coop/Dak and the oline make for an interesting core. You can plug in 30 RB's in there and get the same win total. I really think they mismanaged that aspect of the roster makeup. Specially when the Dak price tag comes in super high. Wonder if they draft a WR in this really strong class for some leverage.
The thing with those 2nd/3rd down runs is that they were getting cute with the clock and wanted to conveniently score a TD with like <30s left and/or make Zimmer burn his TOs. Thing is, when you're trailing, you have to make sure you give yourself the best chance to score first and foremost, then worry about the clock. Bad coaching 101.

if you are playing Godgers or Mahomes leaving too much time after scoring is a legit concern. But not as much against Kirk Cousins.
Wait, TE round 1? Not happening, they have their guy.
What they are going to do is keep Jarwin who’s an RFA this offseason, and probably ink him to something like 4 yrs/$26m by this time next season. The only question in my mind is why Jason Witten is getting as many snaps as he is. He’s useful but Jarwin looks like more of a threat.
Meanwhile Schultz is crazy young and looks like he can block his ass off. You can make a case for adding a lower round pick or a veteran to fill out the roster but that’s about it.
If the draft were today I’d assume their 1 pick would be for the secondary.
Actually that’s a near-lock if they don’t wind up getting Jamal Adams or someone else in FA, or if say they don’t extend Jones at CB. They have to clean up back there.
