Starting to look like the GOAT Cowboys draft class. And we haven't even seen a number of these rookies, some not at all.

Mentioned last week but Anthony Brown looks like a keeper. He's not the cleanest player and must be driving coaches nuts over technique ,and will rack up some penalties over time. But he seems to have all of the key things you want in a corner, speed, (enough) size, aggressiveness, good eye for the ball. I'm never thrilled to see players that raw on the field--especially CBs--but all the dinged up DBs I can hate what he's contributed.

Didn't know that our franchise has never had 9 wins in a row. Anybody else surprised?

Without looking, my guess is that number excludes playoffs and is limited to same-season wins. If so 9 wins doesn't surprise me, they've never won more than 13 in a single season and then only maybe 2-3 times.

If you did count playoffs or carry over into the next season I'd bet it's higher than 9.

Dak kinda looked like a rookie today for the first part of the game but the kid never gets rattled it's insane. Then he got dialed in and they started rolling and he completed something like 18/19 to finish out

If those balls to Dez work now good luck stopping this offence, honestly. It can just do too many things, specially when Dez gets man coverage.

Imho the team is just gonna go as far as the D now. What can that D do to elite teams like the pats basically.

Would feel way more comfortable if we were to get Mo and Church back at 100%. Last I heard for both of them was "sometime in December" but that's pretty vague.

I know Green Bay's secondary is destroyed, but the way Cousins carved them up actually makes me kinda nervous for Thursday.

Princeton Chilly is a totally changed coach, it's really encouraging.

I think if they continue to use Beasely like this then the O can't be stopped. No matter how annoying Troy can be at times in commentary, he's right that nobody can hang with him in man coverage. Dak's ability to put it on him on 3rd and 4's is just such a weapon. Outside of that I think mixing up some of the predictable run plays might not be a bad idea to keep the D a bit more honest on 1st an 10. But man otherwise what can you say? What Dak offers you that Romo cannot is that ruthless bootleg and improvised running. He also runs smart, he doesn't look to absorb many huge hits. I'm starting to think his ceiling is a Cam Newton (or just below it) which is ridiculous, it's like a #1 overall pick fell in our laps.

Not super pumped about the D getting gashed for a billion yards, but the secondary is obviously beat up. I also think that might have been the best offence in the NFC and we beat'm, so the bend but don't break lives on. Best D is gonna be those 8 min drives anyway, so keep those going and we're always in a game.

A #1 pick basically did fall in our laps. I don't think there's any question Dak goes first or second in a redraft right this second. What he's doing as a rookie is unheard of and I don't care how good Zeke or the line is.

Comparing to Cam, I don't know--Dak doesn't have Cam's deep ball touch (or Romo's) and most likely never will. But it's senseless to compare any one trait when looking at the total package he is as well as how he plays.

Beasley though has been nothing short of a monster. His yardage and all that don't jump out at you but he has the two most important traits a receiver can have: he can get open, and he can catch. Plus with how Linehan's using him in conjunction with Witten, and how well Dak's been on his reads, there's almost no way to field a defensive group that matches up well with Beasley without creating a severe hole somewhere. It's not even unthinkable that teams double-cover him a bit more going forward, which sounds insane given everything else they have to defend with Dallas, but he is the most-targeted receiver and only takes about 60% of the offensive snaps. He's wrecking everybody on 3rd-and-long plays and justifies as much attention as anyone when he's in the game.

I'm not so sure the book has been written yet on daks deep ball. two games ago that deep one to dez was picture perfect. dak strikes me as the kind of competitor that's going to practice that till he's got it. that's why I think his ceiling is super high.

He tends to throw a bit of a line drive on deep balls and needs to get more air under it to better give receivers a chance

He also grossly missed Dez wide open vs the skins (didn't even see him) and missed bad on that TD for that seam route.

His best attribute by far is his composure. He never gets high or low and it allows the game to slow down for him. He also has the benefit of not needing to take a lot of risks because of the style of offense Dallas is playing.

He's a rookie too so of course he should have lots of room to improve and will continue to do so. It's also certainly possible he never has a statically good season again, and that doesn't even mean he could be playing bad. He is a legitimate MVP front runner.

The fact that it was two games ago kinda highlights the point...he probably takes one or two deep shots like that per game and hits on like 20-25% of them. I don't think there's a ton of precedent for that improving greatly throughout a QB's career. (It's also a tiny sample size with a ton of variance so who knows.)

The other thing I worry about (related to the above) is his ability to drive a team down the field in the two-minute drill when trailing, and the defense playing the pass the whole way. The short passes he threw against the Giants and Steelers on those final drives are largely what you can expect out of him there, since I don't think he has that necessary ability to pinpoint a guy 20yds down the field with tight coverage. The game in Pittsburgh was gonna come right down to the wire like the season opener did, if we didn't get bailed out by the face mask call (which obviously led to them selling out on the next play and giving us the easy TD). On both drives I think Romo (among others) could drive them down to the 25ish easily even without a TO.

Small favorites against any NFC team for sure. Not unbeatable by any means but wouldn't trade our chances with anyone.

Bet field goals o3.5, Cowboys field goals o1.5 (despite the cold), and Cowboys -2.5 more first downs than them.

Whole lotta stupid in this game. First time they look like a team run by rookies. Except the dumb mistakes are by vets.

Very sloppy ball game. The holes on defense aren't to find and Vikings found them, but thankfully their offense is terrible right now. Almost the entire game was ****

Only good thing is we have 10 days to prepare for the Giants (very much like 2014, where our second big game against the Eagles we got 10 days and they had seven)

11-1, I will take it though. A Pitt win this weekend vs NYG and we would be playing to clinch the division next week!

To get the W in the dreaded trap game works for me. That was the first serious pass rush Dak got to see, good learning experience for him. It's tough to win on the road in the NFL, let's just take it. 10 days off now is gonna be great.
