They all need to show up and have an impact this week. There's definitely the potential for Dallas's offense to hang more than 25 points on NE, if Costa can handle the snaps at an away game and the good Romo shows up.

Pats are probably going to air it out since that's what they do best and where we're weakest, though with Scandrick back and Sean Lee in the middle I'm hoping they can at least slow Welker down. Can the secondary hold up long enough for the pass rush to stress Brady out? Can Garrett game plan well enough to not get completely read by the Pats' coaching staff? Is Felix Jones a reliable starting back?

These are the kinds of games I like best, they go a long way toward answering a lot of questions about what kind of team this really is. Win or lose I just want to see a competitive game without any freakish things happening. Even if they come up short there are a lot of easier games on the schedule than NE @ home. Some of our tougher games don't look as tough as they did before the season started. Even with a loss here if they run well 10-6 isn't out of reach at all.

Just wondering if there's anyone left who still thinks Choice belongs on this roster.

I'm beginning to lose faith in our OC, and I've been one of his biggest defenders.

It looked like Dallas ran the ball more but NE was just all over most of those plays.

edit - maybe not, they had less than 20 total rushes.

I suppose it was inevitable after what happened against DET, but running the ball into the line on 1st/2nd down on that last drive was awful.

There are about half dozen other things they could've tried there that wouldn't involve Romo risking a bad throw, and yet wouldn't have been painfully obvious to the defense.

Yeah if you're out of healthy guards to the point where an UDFA comes in at center while you're center moves to guard, with Wilfork and Haynesworth on the other side, the whole up-the-middle thing is weak.

They ran the ball 23 times not counting Romo's run. A little low but I'm okay with that. I just wish they were better at it. 60 total rushing yards by the RBs (+ a fumble) is inexcusable. Wasn't as bad as it looked as they did pick up some key conversions, but still. Choice needs to go and if he's still around next practice, it's a GM and coaching problem. He's not only non-productive he's hurting the team consistently.

Team rushing stats on the year (includes QB):

Yards per carry: 3.4 (28th in league)
Fumbles: 4 (only 3 teams with more, and we've had a bye week)
Rushing TDs: 1 (2nd worst in league)
Rush yards/game: 84.8 (27th in league)

Once again play calling and rushing attack suspect. Can't blame it on Romo, he managed the game pretty well and didn't do anything asinine, the defense did also. And Felix wasn't really that bad, just Choice and wtf Doug Free turning into the new Flozell Adams. Even Ogletree and Bennett managed to catch a ball today.

So glad to see the 0-5 Rams next week though. Schedule has been brutal so far.

11 straight games decided by 4 points or less, a nice blowout would be so refreshing

Well with Felix Jones missing next game I'd say the odds of Tasharted getting cut are about 0

felix might be out for awhile it seems

he didnt put up stats but he was running real hard and turning nothing into 2 yard gains

ive hated jason garretts playcalling for awhile and i just dont understand it. wtf in the redzone. i understand the runs on 1st and 2nd down at the end, looked like they were gonna try and throw on 3rd down if they didnt pick up the penalty.

wtf happens to Dez in the 2nd half because idk if hes even on the field. also FOR THE LOVE OF GOD CAN WE STOP THROWING ****ING SCREENS TO BENNETT IN THE RED ZONE WTF IS THAT ****. Bennett should never be on the field lined up as a WR, i dont care if he is a mismatch hes a piece of ****. Dez needs more red zone targets if he has 1 and 1 coverage.

that shovel pass was the gayest **** ive seen this season.

I feel so bad for Romo sometimes. Watching the game with some casual fans Sunday. Shovel play happens.

"Oh my god Romo! Why did you do that!??!?!"

Me - "That was the play"

"But he wasn't even open, that guy was all over him"

Me - No, that was the whole play. There was no open or not. It was the entire play. He had no other options. It was basically a running play.

"Well Roger and Aikman wouldn't have done that"

Sigh.

like my freakin dad drives me nuts. i cant watch games with him.

-1st of all he is the most pessimistic and negative person ever

-he thinks romo sucks

-exchanges we have like:
Dad: "why didnt they pass at the end of the game, they needed to run the clock out"
Me: "they were trying to run the clock out, what if they try to pass and throw it incomplete? that allows NE to save their timeouts"
Dad: "well then NE would have scored with 1:30 left and Dallas coulda got the ball again"
Me: "yeah im sure Brady woulda still been in a hurry up once they were a lock for a FG instead of burning the clock anyway"
Dad: "well they needed to pass"

heaven forbid romo throws a pick because then he is all over him

You guys know I'm not one of those "grass is always greener" types when it comes to unproven players, at all, but I think at the halfback position it's time to start taking the risk. Felix is still the best option but he's out, and despite some nice flashes in 2008 Choice is still making dumb rookie type mistakes and isn't at all productive this year. He's just a walking hazard with some pass blocking skills.

If Murray and Tanner do poorly and the decision turned out to be a mistake, I could live with it. Right now though the run game is pure ass and imo it will keep costing us wins, and I think we need to gamble a little bit with rookies.

In the meantime they're bringing in some guards to work out. We need one pretty badly now with Nagy out for season and Dockery still hurt.

So we're going into Week 7 here and I'm looking at the roster. Nagy will go to IR and a guard will need to be signed. But Bruce Carter is coming back and he needs a roster spot, so...

First I've heard the rumors and I'm against trading Bradie James unless we get a very favorable trade for a player at a need position. Sean Lee is awesome but James has been an effective enough starter and losing him leaves just Brooking and Carter to rotate the other spot. Maybe Albright in a pinch or call up that Orie Lemon. If we had Carter healthy early this season and he was doing well, or if James was stinking it up, I could see it. For all we know Bradie James is the 2nd best ILB on the team.

Bailey's doing a great job on FGs (that's 15 straight now) and looks as promised, but he's not doing so hot on kickoffs. Still, does anyone care that much? There's about 4 yards per kickoff difference between what he's doing and what the top KO guys are doing. Significant--about 22 special teams yards per game--but is that significant enough to keep a kickoff specialist when there's other things we need? My only real question with Bailey is his range, he hasn't kicked one over 48 yards. Buehler definitely has range and was actually pretty good with long kicks last year, it was the short ones that he seemed to struggle with. Maybe that's why he's still here.

Choice maybe but with Felix out you'd just have to replace him with another back.

Holley or Ogletree could be cut, but they're both RFAs next year and rather than free agents so they probably don't want to give up on them just yet. But, they do have 6 WRs on the roster now plus prospect-type Teddy Williams, Andre Holmes and AoA (who they're trying as a WR lol) on the practice squad. Then there's Radway on IR so he'll be back to try next year. Laurent Robinson is the #3 now and Harris seems like he'll stick, so why not just go 5 deep at WR?

Geathers at DE is probably safe so long as Hatcher is still out. Albright and Brent contribute enough to stay.

Fiametta the fullback is very possible. He's obviously expendable to Dallas given history and hasn't even been active the last two games. John Phillips is doing the FB job.

Just cut Buehler and Ogletree.

I didn't even think we kept AOA around, cut him too, even if it doesn't help.

Montrae Holland signed. I didn't know he was available but super standard way to go.

Dwayne Harris cut (!) kind of surprised, first because he couldn't beat out Ogletree or Holley for a spot, second, he's the return man.

Only 5 of 8 draft picks remain

signed Daniel Loper too (another G)

at least 2 teams inquired about Choice, but JJ said that bc of Felix's injury they wouldnt make a move

well Nagy apparently graded out as the worst Run blocking G in the NFL so im gonna go with OL. Felix is a LOL sample size "proven" runner, his career YPC was much higher than this year.

its hard for ADP to run behind a line where he is contacted in the backfield on every play, it just looks like the RBs have nowhere to go.

choice will be gone after this year so if they like tanner as a RB they might as well keep him and not have to draft another one this season

Did David Arkin sleep with Red J's wife or something?

How terrible must he be looking for us to bring back a player who we basically cut because he's a lazy POS and then cut a draft pick who had actually been on the field.

I really am clueless as to why Buehler is still on this team. Do we think someone else is going to sign him? We could drop him and pick him up all the time.
