Bennetts been getting a pass for the past 3 years. Its one thing to drop passes or miss a block but to show zero effort while doing it is inexcusable. The guy has no character, it showed on Hard Knocks and nothing has changed.

Free has taken a step back from last year the past 3 games imo. I definitely give him some slack though and hope he corrects whatever the problem is. In the meantime he doesn't look like the top ten tackle he was last year.

I take back everything I said about Choice in the preseason. Hope he gets released cause I doubt anyone is trading for him.

Bennett can block (well) and is making close to the minimum, not worried about him. He's expendable and probably gone after the season. Free, worst case he winds up switching with Smith and as an expensive RT for a couple of years. See if he can work things out, after the last 1.5 years he gets some more rope.

I think we're seeing some of the reasons Garrett and co haven't been high on Choice. 15 rushes for 14 yards this year? Stupid mistakes, no special teams play. He can pass block okay but that's about it. Not sure he has any trade value, he's just wasting downs so far.

Just got back from Jerry World, some observations.

#1. Next to Jacksonville, I have to assume we still have the worst home field advantage in the league and it gets worse every week. Nobody yells, nobody knows when to yell. It's completely embarrassing. I wish I knew what to recommend in order to fix it, but I just don't have the answers. I know part of it is simply that SO many scalpers bought PSL's to sell tickets in this new stadium that we have lots of visiting fans and lots of first timers who are just checking the place out, but man, it's depressing. I'm in a season ticket holder section and I'd say I recognize...30% of the people around me from game-game.

#2. Ware looked completely lost all night until the last quarter. He wasn't even really flying off the ball like normal, it looked like he was trying to juke his way past Williams.

#3. No ****ing way Sean Lee only had 4 tackles/4 assists. Dude was involved on every damn play all over the field. A+ find by Jerry and co for getting him in the 2nd thanks to the injury. If Carter is half the player he is, our LB core is going to be insane.

#4. Alan Ball played one hell of a game. He's not a bad 3rd CB. Shame they ****ed him over last year.

#5. I'm done with Choice and Bennett. I wish we'd just let Phillips and Tanner have their spots.

#6. Ogletree is awful too. All those other **** faces have excuses, but he should know the damn plays. Supposedly Romo called him stupid during the game, lol.

#7. Is it possible Romo has some weird thing he does that causes early snaps? Gurode had the same issue. We have to lead the league in snaps the QB isn't expecting the past 3 or so years.

#8. More than anything, I'm proud as hell to watch this team play. Even if we don't make the playoffs, this team plays hard as hell and has toughness, something we didn't have under Wade.

Gurode was a solid center but just wasn't good at snapping he ball. Costa's just been early, Andre would send that ****ing ball too low or 3 feet over the QB's head. And we're going back even before the Bledsoe days with him doing that.

All Costa's bad snaps were out of the shotgun, right? Maybe he just has a hearing problem? (Seriously)

i say i'm a cowboys fan, but really in name only as in who's your favorite team? well by the low standard of which team do i like more than any others, i guess i'd say the cowboys. last night i watched the 1st half and the 4th qtr, which is more cowboys football than i watched like all of last year (mainly b/c i worked at a strip club dj'ing on sundays so i was, eh... distracted you could say).

so my general impression. WTF? do these guys sleep through meetings and film sessions??? to quote edward o'neil in the replacements "i've seen monkey-poo fights at the zoo that are more organized than this!"

olgetree is the flippin worst. hasn't he been here like 4 years now? i hate to use the speeding ticket/warrant as a backdrop, but is it that olgetree was "too busy" to take care of the ticket or too lazy? or too forgetful? if it's either of the latter two (F off iliketoys) how is that excusable? his talent, or lack there of, certainly doesn't excuse it. do we not have the cap room to go out and sign a guy like donnie avery, or taj smith, or just some receiver that would give a flip about learning the plays, and run the correct routes in a precise manner?

on the brightside, i was already a big romo apologist, but i found a whole new level of respect for him last night. it's scary to think people are out there who think he hurts the cowboys' chances and then they go out and do things like vote, teach children, manage businesses & city governments, yikes!!!

This Laurent Robinson looks head and shoulders better than Ogletree. He's making catches and doesn't look lost, looks like we've found our #3

Seems pretty obvious this thing with Romo throwing 47 times a game isn't going to work. One of these RBs are going to have to step up, start making those tough short yardage plays, a TD from the 1 isn't too much to ask now and again. A bunch of fails with the occasional breakaway 12-yard run looks good on the stat sheet but it sucks in keeping the o on the field.

Romo gets his blame today but if we had any kind of real run game, we wouldn't be stuck throwing all day with a 24 point lead. Garrett's playcalling seems pretty questionable too, they had 4 halfbacks active today so it's not like you have one guy you're worried about wearing down. Not the end of the world if we have some slow 3 & outs with guys chugging along with 2 or 3 yards per carry.

i didnt think the running game looked that bad, just never ran, standard jason garrett. up 3 with 4 min? come out throwin. throw when up 24 in the 2nd half? duh.

just an unreal loss, its ******ed how close this team is to being 4-0.

17 point lead: 3rd & 2, pass play, pick 6

Now that I'm off the ledge a little:

Seems like we're in okay shape at 2-2 and this is a perfect time for the bye week. We're still 1-0 in the division and own a tiebreaker against Washington + Philly just lost again. Mentioned it in another thread but our opponents so far this year are 10-1 (outside of their games with the Cowboys).

Maybe it's just me but I don't see a win at NE being out of the question, healthy and coming off a bye (Pats won't, they play NYJ next week). Then there's the Rams, Eagles and Seahawks for us after that. Meanwhile the other NFC East teams have some tough games ahead of them to worry about.

3-1 would be better but things considered they don't seem to be in a terrible spot, and there's a lot of positives to look forward to. Consider some fo these things for upside:
  • Ok, first off, Cowboys appear to have found a kicker that's hit on 92% of his kicks so far
  • Miles Austin coming back!
  • Scandrick coming back
  • Two guards coming back
  • Jason Hatcher coming back
  • Romo, Witten, Newman, Jenkins, Bennett, Felix & Sensabaugh can heal up a bit
  • David Buehler can work on his resume
  • We still haven't taken the gift wrap off of Bruce Carter
  • More Sean Lee
  • Less Kevin Ogletree
  • What's that, we have an option for a #3 WR on the roster in Robinson? Do tell
  • Some hope for the o-line, who did bounce back fairly well against a very tough Lions defense today

I think we'll see a roster move or two soon

I dont think were in bad shape either and maybe its a good thing well be under rated at 2-2. Our 2 loses have come against good teams and we dominated them for the majority of the games.

Gonso I like your point about the running game. Its something I didnt notice but yea we definitely should not be throwing as much as we do. A lot of problems in the run game should be fixed as the season continues and the oline has more time together. I think Felix is running well.

The redzone issues nees to be fixed as well.

If you had told me before the season started about all the injuries we'd have, I would have signed for 2-2 at the bye in a second, so I guess I can't complain. Still so frustrating that we had to steal wins in two games against meh teams, then blew leads against two good teams that we were pwning.

This was the biggest positive for me. I was amazed at the fact that Romo wasn't running for his life every drop.

The 20 points worth of Lions offense wasn't the problem so I can live with a couple Megatron TDs, that's a wash with the couple Dez put up. Problem is the poor decision making at HC, QB & lack of a run game on Dallas's offense. And how does Romo not see Carpenter on that play, and wtf was he trying to force it there anyway? Even if he didn't underthrow it there's Houston on his WR behind him.

I swear Dallas's O is like a rabid dog on acid, you just never know if they're going to tear somebody apart, or spaz out and jump off the balcony. The defense played well enough for it's part as usual.

Romo blew it, not sure anything else needs to be said. Game was over until back to back pick 6. Throw to Tulloch and I doubt anyone in the stadium thought the Cowboys were gonna hold. Lions offense was bound to move the ball and score points eventually. Romo blew this way more than the Jets game.

Dallas defense looks good each time I see it. Killer turnovers along with no Austin and what is apparently 50% Dez only issue. Could come off the bye and get **** in order.

still, 2-2 and right in the division. those games vs the giants late are gonna be huge probably.

if they can go 3-2 in their last 5 division games i think they will be in good shape.

I wouldn't either. They're the underdog and rightfully so but with virtually all of the team returning they do have enough talent and upside to get it done.

NE doesn't lose at home and they definitely have a coaching advantage so it won't be easy. Still I think we have do some favorable matchups here and there. This is a big week for Garrett/Ryan especially.

Rob Ryan was the def coord at CLE when NE was held to 14 points, the last time in the last 14 games theyve been held to less than 30.

Ware needs to show up and have an impact this week.
