To call this team's performance pathetic over the last 6 quarters would be a compliment.

So Folk missed another one, Roy dropped everything. Meh, at least the D has been solid. Oh and hello Martellus

Tough to really tell how bad Romo played today, since they said he could barely walk after the game. He missed a lot of passes high today, I'd like to think some of that is because of the injury.

Roy has absolutely zero redeming qualties. He is playing god awful football. The 2nd string tight end is more valuable to the team than he is.

I really wonder if Detroit knew he was done when they traded him to us. It has to be evident during practice that he can't get open and doesn't catch the ball, right?

If they did, it's Dallas's fault for not going through a workout before they signed him.

At least they can let him go next season without a salary cap nightmare. I think it's at the point where they're just going to have to draft a WR up high. Sure hope Free proves to be legit starting LT material, to allow us to do that. Maybe Miles can do it long term and Ogletree will pan out, I don't know. But we've passed on a lot of 2nd/3rd rounders in recent years that are contributing to other teams right now.

Truth.

I'm not sure if Shipley is a senior (the dude at Texas), but he looks damn good.

There will be a flood of junior talent in the draft this year, with the specter of a rookie salary cap looming in the new CBA. Dallas needs a #1 WR, all line positions (both sides), MLB, S. This is a draft that cannot be fubared.

So history suggests Jerry will trade all the picks for like a nickel CB and another TE.

/jerry rant

If you're gonna get an offense healthy, this may not be the most ideal team coming in on short rest, but it's one you'd pick. Better get it now, because the mental hurdle of December is just as hard as the schedule coming.

With all the stuff about to happen with an uncapped year and such, if I were Jerry Jones I would hire Jimmy Johnson.

If this uncapped **** happens, the Cowboys are going to become the Yankees of the NFL.

It's not going to be that simple, there are all kinds of free agent rules that will come in to play when they set up for this contingency. Young players will be restricted free agents for more years, and teams will get two transition tags (or one transition/one franchise). There is also some new salary escalation rule... the basic result is that there probably won't be all that many quality free agents out there compared to normal. Plus the top 8 teams from the year before won't be able to sign a top FA unless they lose one.

The good news is that it probably cheapened Ware's deal, and guys like Miles Austin aren't lost to another team. JJ's not afraid to spend money but it might be a matter of just not having many great players available to actually spend it on. Not that there won't be anyone, but many will be overpaid guys or dead weight the teams just want off the books and cut (ahem, Roy Williams?). We don't need those, and guys like Brandon Marshall won't be an option since he's now a RFA for two more years.

You just kind of have to hope that a lot of owners are busto enough to let some top players go. As of right now the FA class of '10 looks like ass.

lol I know right?

I hope he just resigns the DL guys and keeps Sensabaugh. We have (hurt) rookie LBs now. That WR though, there's no way around it. 2 WRs and a tackle are pretty much a must.

I've never been so pessimistic about a team in first place. Anybody else feel like we're done now after that loss to the Giants? We have SD, @NO, @WAS, and PHI left, and I think 2-2 would be an optimistic prediction (although I guess if one of the wins is the Eagles game we might be OK). Not to mention we'll see nothing but "can't win in December" crap in the media after every loss.

I have a very bad feeling it's going to come down to the Philly game. And I would be flat out lying if I said I had any confidence we can win that game. Should it come down that way, there is a reasonable chance I make an enormous bet on Philly ML, go to the game, and have a win win.

So at this point, what do we do about the K position? He's missed more this year than the last two combined, right? Do we stick with the guy and attribute it to the whole hip surgery thing.. and believe he'll snap out of it? Or go with someone else?

Some of Folk's misses have been downright shanks. Yet he still beat Bueller (sp?) in practice this week.

Lets hope he isn't needed tonight for anything significant. Seems to be the best possible scenario all the way around.

At this point, we have to hope for this, right? A win tonight would go a long way, or we need the Skins to beat NYG and lay down to the team next week. Not a hopeful prospect.

But god, a Sunday night showdown, last regular season game of the year vs PHL for the NFC East sounds like fun.

So who is the solution now for Dallas at Kicker? I'm trying to think of free agents, and this is what I got:

Folk: Keep him and hope for the best?
Buheler: Give him a shot with the playoffs on the line?

Jason Elam: Was worse than Folk to start the year. Does he have anything, aside from experience, to offer?
Morten Anderson: If going for experience, why not the 50 year old? Let Buhler kick long stuff, him short?
Steven Hauschka: Didn't look confident for the Ravens at all
Shaun Shuisham: Has Cowboys ties, and was 18/21 in DC this year, but that NO Miss was the same as Folk's
Nick Novak: Oh boy, another ex-redskin
Mike Vanderjagt: Just kidding
Martin Gramatica: Are we really scraping this part of the barrel?
Parker Douglass & Taylor Rowan: Both kicked in the UFL... so they've at least been active
Damon Duval: Hit that Grey Cup winning kick, on the second try, a few weeks ago

Dragging their feet on this cost a shot at Matt Bryant, Mike Nugent, and Billy Cundiff. Sad that they would be serious upgrades.

So what is the best option here?
