LB draft picks been strooooong.

Btw when was the last time the pass rush was so dominant? Feels like the answer is the mid 90's?

They draft O-line, safety, and maybe TE?

Wonder is safety is even a top 5 concern right now. Woods is playing well and I haven’t heard many people complaining about Heath lately, and he’s been on the field every defensive snap. Both young and cheap and under contract. Seems to have a decent depth guy too.

My guess is they want to try and get a couple extensions in place elsewhere. Jaylon Smith, Amari Cooper, definitely DLaw, Byron Jones better get done too. They’ll all be UFAs after next year and then so is Dak and there’s only one tag. Zeke should be barking for an extension as soon as this season ends. Who are they going to sign at DT, TE and how much will it cost? What’s going on with Frederick’s situation?

Looking at all of that and doing some back of the napkin math I’m not sure they’re even in the safety market now. There are some FA options if I’m wrong.

Their needs list for me today is 1-2 TEs and we’ll see. Probably WR, definitely if Beasley walks and probably still if he doesn’t walk. The rest, depends on how they keep

Going over last few games...Byron Jones needs a contract extension this offseason. I have him right after DLaw, and Smith and Cooper just behind. For those into the cap things those 4 alone probably run 50-55m/year in new salary at market rate - that’s fine, they have 40m+ in room now and you can subtract another 15m with Lee, TWill, Hurns off the top of my head.

Then, Dak. I’m not saying it’s ideal but a 20m/year extension this offseason is at least 50/50. Given his starting record you at least know he’s enough to win games with I guess. If they give him Matt Ryan money though Ill lose my ****. I think getting those other deals done and saving the tag is wiser but teams tend not to do that with QB. I still dream of trade scenarios with him but don’t think that’ll ever happen.

That leaves minor questions about whether they keep Crawford (probably), And some other decisions but expect a fair bit of restructuring deals to open up ever more space to fill gaps and snag a FA DT or TE or whatever. They ought to be in the market for a vet RB (and that could actually be AP).

We’ll see how close they get this year but it doesn’t seem they’re all that far off.

Dak overthrew wide open WRs downfield five times. And ended up with 455 passing yards

Dak officially the most frustrating player in the NFL. I'll take it though.

Have to be like 98% to win the division at this point, right? Even if we lose out there ain't nobody winning their last 3, and we'd hold all tiebreakers.

Garrett has finally started going for it on 4th down. It's pretty sad that an nfl head coach had to be told he was going to be fired by Jerry ****ing Jones before he finally started doing his job correctly.

Cowboys lock with any win, but failing you’d still have to have WAS or PHI win out to take over, and they play each other week 17.

Meanwhile Amari Cooper has almost singlehandedly dropped the value of the pick used for him from a lower top ten to (I think) #26. Okay not really singlehandedly but lol raiders lol eagles. And lolDak wtf I hope you’re playing for 600k next year

Please let White or Rush become good or have them sign some half capable QB2 this offseason

Sean Lee soon too

And how about Randy Gregory and the TE's?

Yeah I guess Geoff Swaim was a progress stopper this whole time. Or the eagles just fielded the worst defense I’ve seen in years. Romo or any comparable QB would have hit 650 yards on that

The old “we believe our own hype” special. A Jason Garrett classic.

still in the driver’s seat but that could hurt a ton, needed that win to get some of these guys rested and healthy. PHI probably loses tonight and WAS plays TEN before the Cowboys/Bucs game next week so there’s still a shot they lock it up but they’re flirting with disaster.

Good to see improved TE production but not much for the WRs, Cooper 34 yds and zip for Gallup who was just flat out covered. They will definitely have to add somebody to push Gallup and for the slot role assuming Beasley leaves. Could talk about Dak or plays or line injuries but MG had himself totally shut down. He’s got a ways to go before anyone feels secure with WR2 spot.

Hopefully it’s a timely reality check

I see it as a reality check too. They shouldn't have gotten overconfident after this streak of beating okay teams by one score, but they probably did. In the end it's probably better if they have to sweat a little to clinch, fine line between rested and rusty anyway.

This has turned into their ultimate nightmare day with the Skins and Eagles (probably) winning. Gotta be thankful to have tiebreakers. If they have to win week 17 in the Meadowlands though... yikes.

Far from a nightmare, I actually hope the eagles and skins win out. If we can't beat either buccs or giants then this team doesn't deserve to be anywhere near the playoffs and Garrett should never coach another game in his life.

Have questions about that. LVE and Smith are starting at Mike and Will now, and none of the three would make sense at Sam (Wilson is the best option for that anyway). But why not have Lee in the rotation behind Smith and LVE? JML and Thomas suited up...

here’s hoping they can find that extra gear on offense. With the defense clicking and a little luck they might get a win or even two, but that’s about it. They’re going to need to hang 30 on somebody good along the way to do better. I don’t see it but hey we’re here about to find out.

Hoping for a Dak hot streak and for Gallup and those TEs to skip the development part and just make it happen.

Redzone offense has been almost worst in the NFL bad. Seems like some of it comes good down to luck which could turn around but also some bad play calls and execution. If we could convert more of our long drives into TDs in the playoffs we would be in good shape.

Cowboys 7-1 at home and 2-5 on the road. Two road wins were the Falcons/Eagles. One team eliminated from the playoffs and one likely to be on Sunday.

Would much rather play the Vikings in the WC and Rams in the division round. Doesn't look like it will shake out that way.
