It’s really premature to bite too hard on this defense but I can’t hate much of anything I see with it so far. And they’re missing several starters...still keeping a close eye on the secondary and LBs.

The passing game output is miserable. Zeke’s 5 receptions was as many as Beasley, Hurns, Gallup, TWill and all the tight ends combined. Deonte and Tavon thankfully kept it from being a complete bust, and Zeke/Dak running...I can see why they’re talking about re-signing Brice. There really isn’t much out there and the Pats kept them from doing anything silly with Josh Gordon...

But whatever, see how it goes, maybe 1 or 2 guys will step up. If not they’ll just do what we all probably figured they’d have to do next year anyway. Sure wouldn’t mind a Miles Austin or Pat Crayton out of this bunch. And will take anything at TE - just a dude I can point to as evidence we actually have a TE playing

Lawrence looking serious out there. They’ve got a fair bit of potential at DE besides him but if he keeps up like this you’re looking at insane money, and well earned. DE in good shape rn

Seattle's O line looks ripe for the picking this week. Apparently Jerry expects Gregory to be available, possibly Woods as well. Nice to see all these DL / DB picks develop & have impact.

Woods is almost certain by the look of it. They just signed Brice Butler and dumped a FS to make room.

Good for XW because he needs to be on the field more than anybody, what with a future HOF’er actively applying for his job. Seattle’s 0-2 and I can’t imagine they keep Thomas past the trade deadline without winning 4 out of the next 5 (which they won’t).

So unless GB or somebody else snatches Thomas sooner, Woods has like 3-4 games to save his starting job and probably $60m in cap space plus a Rd 2 pick (spoiler: it’s going to be a tight end).

And his first start against Earl Thomas’s team too...yeah no pressure.

This coming draft class is really nice at WR. I think we can expect one in the first 2 rounds.

I don’t think depth at WR will be that big a big factor to Dallas next draft unless somebody emerges as a true #1 beast this year. I think you’re probably looking at a top 10 guy or the top FA coming to Dallas if there’s a good one, and that’s about it. It’s just their way and they’re swimming in B-C tier, developmental and slot guys already.

That’s a long ways off though. The guys they have are going to play and it will be hard to hide impact-level talent if they find any in this group.

Guessing Earl Thomas is moving pretty soon now, no idea if Dallas or not. Wonder if the Chiefs interest is been hyped for leverage, but even then there are 29 other teams that see this guy balling out...

IMO they need to keep their the picks, this team is a such a hot mess and it’s pretty much a lock Thomas is 13 games away from coming here if he doesn’t get a LTD first.

Not seeing any news on the safeties health-wise, I saw some limping with a couple of them.

Hard to guess how this shakes out but the FO has to realize that the prospects for this season are grim. I think ET would just help them lose by less points. The QB/WR/TE and oline issues seem like a much bigger need rn

With D injuries we're in the conversation now with the Raiders, Texans, 49ers minus Jimmy, Giants....that's about it. Top 5 pick even.

The franchise deciding games are gonna be @Texans, @Skins, @Giants, and vs Titans. If we lose most of those we're picking top 5.

Jonah Williams from Alabama? Michael Deiter from Wisconsin? Oline beef.

I think it would be a huge mistake not to prioritize QB with that high a pick. Dak is not good.

Whether Dak comes around or not is TBD, but yeah there’s no way next year’s 1 pick is in the conversation for anything, and right I can’t really see the 2 either. If not a QB then WR and who knows about DT or whatever else.

At least with Dak he’s signed and not going anywhere next season. Might ruffle some feathers but automatically extending him to some 25m/yr mega deal looking like a bad idea right this second

Wonder if Sean Lee would play his final year, and then join the coaching staff. He's made crazy loot, it's time to start coaching them up soon I think. Dude's gonna have no body left at this pace. Strikes me as a dude who would be an incredible coach.

With the Eagles and Giants losing, all of a sudden this is a big second half.

Man this O is bad.

I could see Sean Lee as a position coach, but either way this is it as a Cowboys player. He might even be trade bait for anyone needing LB help this season, at least if he can get healthy by Oct 30th.

Defense is pretty damn good for today's NFL.

Offensive passing game is bottom 3 in the NFL. Considering its now a passing league, not good.

Defense carrying the day but yeah half an offense doesn’t do it.

At home but 3 point dogs to JAX.

Hope to see Jaylon and LVE keep up what they’re doing and stay healthy.
This season may be a mess but the LB group is not, Smith was a beast vs HOU and how the hell does LVE look like a seasoned pro already?

Another positive spin thought: Dak’s been meh, but imagine if they had been successful in trading up for Paxton Lynch, which would have cost the Jaylon pick, probably eliminates the Dak pick, and also cost a 4th - and after it fell through, Jerry said he should have given up the 3rd rounder (Collins!) to get it done.

How bad does Lynch have to be to clear waivers and still be unemployed btw? Thought for sure DAL would bite on a flyer

Anyway back to hoping for .500
