Who you guys think starts most of the TE1 snaps this year? And what about TE2?

Of the guys they have, Swaim seems the most likely with his 20+ game experience. This group is hard to guess with so little experience - you have a midround Stanford TE that should adapt pretty quickly, and Gathers and Jarwin both have interesting upside and at least one prior training camp of experience before this one. Just have to see what they all look like in camp and preseason.

Probably close to a 5 way tie for TE1, with the 5th being a veteran they scoop up after final cuts. These guys haven’t produced anything apart from a little hype.

Some are, but even so 9 or 10 guys at his position were still taken ahead of him. And he’s out of Stanford which is an NFL TE factory that plays them fairly pro style - every team would have looked at this guy. Still didn’t go until the dead last in the 4th round, where guys average like 2-3 seasons and are out of the league.

Of course he’s coming into a situation where he’s competing against other guys with no experience either, so we’ll get a look sooner rather than later. Those TE slots are all wide open

Guess I'm rooting for a 4th round decent guy like Canty, Barber, Free, Hitchens...

But yeah I know odds are stacked against.

He’s here and will get his shot, but just making the team and contributing in some useful way would be a good start. I’d certainly be fine with any of the four if they can elevate beyond fringe status. After 3 years I don’t even know if Swaim is a good 3rd TE let alone the rest of them.

But these things happen, not much you can do when you lose your top two guys. See how things go, maybe they can luckbox it again. If not, oh well.

I still hate that Gathers and Beas are making rap albums. These dudes honestly crack me up. Meanwhile Brady and company just train offseason...

That’s a little unfair, these guys should have other pursuits, especially something creative and productive instead of getting arrested at nightclubs. And Tom Brady has plenty of time for surfing, selling stuff, making appearances everywhere...and isn’t he skipping OTAs right now?

Work/life balance is a real thing and the older I get the more I’ve noticed that successful people tend to be pretty good at managing their time for things outside of business. Bease knows what he needs to do and seems to show up prepared to play. It not like he’s going on tour and missing camp. He keeps in shape, doesn’t miss games, and seems to know his assignments. And his flow is pretty good too

Have we talked about the schedule yet? Holy BRUTAL. I like where the bye is, but wow this schedule is rapie. I put the games that are a flip or worse in italics. And we may honestly still be flipping in the only 3 I didn't put.

There's room for 4-12 in there man. If the Skins are improved the path to 8-8 seems real hard. I think we know the Giants are gonna be way better.

Bring it on. If you’re not good enough to beat a tough schedule, you’re not good enough to be the champs. That said, going off of adjusted SOS they have the 2nd toughest behind NO.

There’s so much coaching player turnover and injury, who knows what any team is this far out anyway. We don’t even know if this team is going to be good or not, and I sure didn’t have Philly as a winner this time last year.

Getting 8 wins would be a good result for me with such a young roster taking over after a serious 2-year purge. They lost a lot of veteran talent and depth

8 wins means they’ve rebuilt and were successful with the young players they fielded. They’re in no danger of losing any next year due to cap constraints, and will be able to make meaningful moves in free agency. Dez, Witten and Hitchens are a lot to replace not to mention a lot of capable depth players gone too.

4 wins and the franchise is in a bad place. 13 wins I’d love to see but that would take a lot to go right. Jaylon Smith exploding into an All Pro and that basket of secondary guys going off. Taco showing up, freefolling some stud UDFA, a credible TE etc. Not asking for all that this year

It’s the NFL, not much is really certain other than NE will be pretty good.

Plus with a young team things can change really fast, for better or worse. Either way it will be fun to watch and see what shakes out this year.

Damn Zack Martin jfc

He should only be credited one season so I think he’s stuck on his rookie deal for three more years, if he shows anything. See what kind of shape he’s in and how things go in camp but for now just another name on the roster. Hard for me to excited about him

Man this guy is starting to look good: https://www.sbnation.com/nfl/2018/3/...wboys-draft-lb

There's a decent chance that our LB group is a lot better than I though it would be. You might be able to make the same claim about our secondary.

I think there are a lot of 7-9,-8-8, 9-7 permutations. I think better would be a crazy shock. But Sean Lee, Vander Esch and Jaylon Smith starting to look like a pretty damn mobile group of hard workers.

The LB group looked really good but Jaylon and that Joe Thomas were what I noticed much more than the rookie. See how things progress but they seem to be in decent shape at LB.

Secondary, eh. I need to see some serious growth. There’s youth and a lot of promise, but they might also turn out to be a meh group of corners with a thin and bad safety group too. I expect mixed results back there with probably a big pick + FA next offseason to try and shore that unit up. But again we’ll see, these guys all have a year experience now and a good coach working with them so there’s hope

Speaking of corners, Washington just released Scandrick. They reportedly like their young guys and all, but with such a reasonable contract...

I was a little surprised when Cowboys cut him this year, it didn’t really save much money relative to the general need for CB depth, but chalked that up to the guy wanting out. Now with this it looks like two teams think he’s about washed up. Think he gets signed and might help somebody this year but we’ll see how much.

Apparently Randy Gregory is crushing, and Antwaun Woods is running with the 1's at tackle. Nice surprises.
