I looked into him before and the best sources seemed to think he was done for 2015. Even if half true by the time he shows up he'll need to acclimate and get back in shape...I'm more thinking someone healthy now.

Obviously it's going to be a discount guy you won't get excited about. But somebody experienced and healthy, who can push for any spot...they need 3 and Seastrunk and Johnson don't look realistic for more than a practice squad spot if that. Really wish there was a 4th guy to compete.

Pierre Thomas is out there and shouldn't cost too much, and seems to make sense for a zone blocking scheme. If he's healthy.

He actually just worked out for the Texans but reportedly they offered the veteran minimum which for him is $870k. I can't blame him, he'll get better out of somebody once more guys start going down. Probably worth another $400k or so to be patient, and maybe find a more relevant team. Also reported that he looked the best out of the backs they worked out, which only helps his case.

That's the real reason nobody cares.

I guess there's a nonzero chance that he was dinged up in 2013 and could make a comeback after a year of rest. He's 28 with 1,700 carries but we've seen some RBs go way beyond that. But it's a lot more likely he's just washed up.

People overlook almost anything if you can play.

So Randle, Dunbar, McFadden all out with minor stuff right now.

At least Gus Johnson is supposed to be doing well in camp. He'd better, opportunities for UDFA backs don't get much better. From what I'm reading Seastrunk is kind of lost out there so I wonder if they don't rotate him out soon.

My bigger concern is the fact that Randle seems like a huge piece of **** human being who is going to do something stupid eventually and get kicked off the team.

I would be shocked if Johnson ended up getting any kind of major PT. We'll pickup someone before going w/ him I'd think.

The 5-yard TD run was nice and gjge (the Collins block was more eye-catching for me though). Most of the rest of Gus's game made him look every bit like the raw 2nd-hand UDFA he is. He seems like a 4th guy if you went light with one less TE or no FB, but I don't see them doing either. Or if someone like Dunbar is lost...different type of skill set but with GJ but useful if he were ready.

He definitely couldn't afford to get hurt though.

2 RBs signed, Michael Hill and Ben Malena. You may remember Malena as a UDFA who got hurt in camp last year.

6 halfbacks now so somebody figures to be gone very shortly, maybe after next PS game.

They're the only 3 options they have. I don't even see a guy pushing Dunbar at this point.

Still better than throwing a megadeal at a veteran back, just a little surprised they've been so quiet since missing out on RB in the draft. And then again when Ryan Williams was lost, and then again with the injuries. But I guess if they really don't see anybody out there worth bothering with they don't have much choice.

Starting to get worried that way too much positivity is going through this camp right now.

This feels so much like whatever year we traded for Roy Williams where I thought we were so deep that we could afford to lose the draft pick.

Damien Wilson looking awesome. Corey White/Patmon/Jones all looking like we're going to have reasonable CB depth. Our OL is insanely deep and that's with our 3rd rounder not even playing.

Really hope this isn't going to bite us in the ass.
