Trade rumor busted:

Also, Sizemore has reportedly started throwing and hitting in Goodyear and will start running soon. That's encouraging, but with Spring Training starting in a few weeks it sounds like he could be a bit behind with his conditioning (as expected).

I just saw the "verbal agreement" thing with Johnson. I like his skill set, but what's the point of bringing him in with LaPorta and Hafner projected to play both his positions full time? I like Hafner's odds of staying healthy better than Johnson's.

Laffey was traded to Seattle for Matt Lawson. I've never heard of the guy, but that seems like a good opportunity for Laffey. I was getting kind of tired seeing the team jerk Laffey around so much, might as well deal him (it's not like he's been effective the last two years anyway).

There's not much info out there on Lawson. He seems like a depth acquisition, since he can play second base and outfield. Sounds fine to me.

It's irrelevant if he's better than Pronk, as we're not going to bench him. NJ is a combination of LaPorta bust insurance and Pronk injury insurance. It's a good signing, though, because at least one of those things is bound to happen, and NJ would be a cheap and semi-productive replacement.

I actually like a lot of our "insurance" guys, but you know your team sucks when you're excited about guys who are signed to minor league deals.

Just ordered a new hat for the season. The BP hats are pretty nice imo....

Hate it. Hate the C. I have my old-school hat with the chief on it, and I like it so much more.

Man. I love the new-old block C.

I like the wahoo too, since it is what I grew up on. But the new C is pretty historical and looks pretty cool in the new style imo.

Plus anything that doesn't have the abomination "I" on it is good for me.

The script "I" is actually somewhat traditional for the team as well, but was only recently featured on the cap. I'm coming around to the block "C," still not my favorite though.

It's only a matter of time before they eliminate Chief Wahoo altogether, I think. Lots of alternate caps and logos being issued the last few years.
