Well, the Edwards drops were a real problem, as was Anderson's accuracy. The line looks great in pass protection but can't get a push in the run game, even when the Steelers had rotated their backup linemen in. Wimbley seems to be regressing, nice athlete who has not developed a single NFL quality pass rush move in 2+ seasons. There are a lot of culprits. Rodgers, Pool, and Zastudil played well though.

Hopefully for you Browns fans it was the wind that was getting to Anderson and he is not really that bad.

Browns probably had 100 yards advantage from special teams when you add up all the plays even though Cribbs didn't have any big plays.

to be honest, i didn't thnk they'd win either of these games...

this week is the test...if they go to baltimore and win, then beat the hapless bengals (on some revenge **** for week 16 last year), they're 2-2 at the bye week, and have 2 weeks to gear up for the giants on monday night...

i knew they wouldn't be world beaters, and assumed they'd lose their first 2 (probably the best team in the league, and a team they haven't beat in 10 tries), but they better get these next 2...

Could have had two draft picks in the preseason.

i find it hard to believe that any team would have given up a first and a third for anderson, but then again nfl gms constantly amaze me with their stupidity.

I think there are enough pairs of the following groups:

1) Terrible QBs
2) Idiot GMs / HCs

browns would be much better off now if DA sucked last year and Romeo got fired instead of extended, right? heh.

This. It was fun dusting off the old expletives to use on Sundays again.

From reading some other forums I'm getting the impression that if DA is still starter at the next home game we may have another "bottle-gate" after his first INT. I obv completely agree with this point and would see it as being completely justified.

I think bottle-gate is my fondest memory of the Cleveland Browns.

Needs moar:

That being said, it's unlikely that he will be able to come straight in and play to an elite level. In college, Quinn did have a habit of throwing easy picks or trying to hard to make a play when the right option would be taking a sack or throwing it away. But he is capable of making plays and ye need to try something to kickstart things.

he doesn't have to play at an elite level to be an upgrade over anderson.

Also learning if he's the long term solution needs to happen sooner or later.

it was hilarious how just 6 months ago all the espn analysts were calling DA the Browns' savior, I was watching him play and thinking "WHAT?" This guy never protected the ball and the only reason he had success was because he was hitting some elite downfield options, now he can't even do that.

Browns were overrated last year with an easy schedule and they're on a regression to norm this year

ya browns r basically in this mess cuz anderson had a pretty good year last year but i think his true colors came out towards the end where he pretty much single handedly ended the browns post-season chances by throwing 2 picks in like 20 secs in that bengals game opening the door for the titans, and now he is rly showing how good he is considering he has the weapons but nothing is happening this could be cuz of crennel but im thinking its a pretty decent amount on anderson

THEY LOST TO CINCY WITH THE PLAYOFFS ON THE LINE.

Browns fans will be crying for Brady Quinn after they lose their 1st 2 home games to Dallas and Pittsburgh.
I was a week too soon.

you were right, but you enjoy watching the steelers.

push?

Dear Browns fans:

Suck it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Pittsburgh still rules the AFC North and you still cannot beat us! What an idiot I am for picking Edwards and Anderson in my fantasy leagues... Thank God I picked up JT O Sullivan, since he will outperform any of the sorry QBs on your roster.

And your coach is a moron. Hey maybe next year you can beat the Steelers on your way to another 4-12 finish, to give yourself some false hope for 2010 and beyond.

It's a shame us Browns fans don't have it as good as the Steelers with their annual first round playoff loss.

Here is my problem with the way we are currently handing this.

DA is starting against Cincy with the knowledge that if he plays poorly he's losing his job...and if he does get yanked...its for good. After Cincy we have a bye week and then we play against the Giants. So what happens if DA plays well against Cincy? Cincy is a bad team...DA has shown he can beat bad teams...we already know this. He also has shown he CANNOT beat good teams. So here is how I see this playing out:

DA plays good against Cincy, he stays as starting QB. We go into the bye week. DA gets the starter's reps in practice. We play the Giants...DA still sucks...we get our asses kicked, now he gets yanked..and Brady is the starter and is missing 2 full weeks of full reps in practice and a full game of experience.

Here is how it should happen:

BQ starts against Cincy. He gets a full game under his belt and then has 2 weeks of practice to prepare for a real challenge against the Giants.

Since we've already announced that it won't happen that way...here is what I see as the best possible scenario on Sunday:

1st Snap, DA botches the snap/handoff but recovers. 2nd snap, he overthrows a wide open receiver on what could have been a 70 yard TD. 3rd snap, he throws it straight to the Cincy defense...no receiver in the area, run back for pick 6, Romeo yanks him and our DA problem is solved. That said....ONE TIME DA! DO WHAT YOU ALWAYS DO!!! PLZ!!!!!!!

Apparantly the Steelers didn't learn the same thing. What was left of the Bill Cowher era is gone, Tomlin is an idiot and the effect of his dumb decisions will start to become apparent this season.

You have to actually make the playoffs first.

The last 2 times they did make it, 1994 and 2002, who did they lose to??

I have no illusions that the Steelers are without fault this year, but they are most certainly better than the Browns. It really cracks me up when Browns fans talk smack about the Steelers. You dont have a leg to stand on. The Steelers have beaten them 10 straight times. You have to root for other teams to beat them because the Browns cant. I'll take 10-6 and another division crown no matter what happens in the playoffs. Enjoy 6-10 Brownies.
