I'm always a plan for getting quantity over quality, especially in hard to predict spots like QB. I'd rather get a veteran "ok" QB and 4 decent players at other positions than trying to pick that star QB (and probably being wrong).

Griffin has a great arm, but his speed will quickly be negated in the league. He's a great player and get him if you can without selling your soul, but don't overpay.

I think I'm with wiper, I won't be overly pissed no matter what they do, unless they somehow contrive to seriously overpay to move up.

Obviously the Browns have a ton of issues to resolve, and this is one of those potential lose-lose situations. Pass on RG3 and he's a star somewhere else, and everyone bitches. Take him and he can't somehow singlehandedly save this team with no one to throw to, and everyone bitches.

Still, with a lot of cap room if they don't make significant gains in a lot of weak areas through the draft and free agency I'm not going to be a happy Browns fan. Of course, I'm having a hard time remembering the last time I was a happy Browns fan. '89, probably.

Need to just keep trading to get multiple 1st round picks, maybe be good in 2020 or something. Keep trading until we get every 1st round pick that year.

What do you guys think about the Wide Receiver out of Georgia Tech?

Blackmon, Floyd, Kendall Wright #19 to Bears, Jeffrey are already gone in this Mock draft so Stephen Hill is the 5th Wide Receiver taken.

Blackmon measured much smaller than what Okla St listed him 6'0" 203 real measurement http://bleacherreport.com/articles/1...f-picks/page/8

Stephen Hill, Wide Receiver, Georgia Tech #22 to Browns

If you hadn't heard of Stephen Hill before the scouting combine and you weren't under a rock last week, chances are, you're familiar with the Georgia Tech wide receiver by now.

We were fortunate enough to watch Hill work out the night before he ran his mind-blowing 4.30 time in the 40. Hill is impressive in person, with long arms and the big hands every deep threat must possess. Oh, and he's really fast too.

Hill is raw, but the talent is there for him to emerge as one of the top deep threats in the NFL. He's already working with private coaches on improving his route running skills, showing a dedication to being the best in the game.

Adding Trent Richardson and Stephen Hill will go a long way in turning around the Cleveland offense.

Matt Miller Bleacher report
http://bleacherreport.com/articles/1...-picks/page/23

Quote:
ATLANTA (AP) Stephen Hill says he is bypassing his senior season at Georgia Tech to enter the NFL draft.

Hill caught 28 passes for 820 yards, including five for touchdowns, this season. He led FBS players and set a school record with his average of 29.3 yards per catch.

Hill said Thursday he is "ready to move forward and work on getting better."

The 6-foot-5, 200-pound Hill had 49 catches for 1,248 yards in three seasons in Georgia Tech's run-first option offense.

Hill's average of almost 30 yards per catch broke the record of 25.1 set by Demaryius Thomas, now with the Denver Broncos, in 2009. http://stats.washingtonpost.com/cfb/...90712012315608
Although it can be argued he's a 2nd round pick and not a 1st rounder.... never know with these things.... he's dropped balls and his route running his suspect.

Yes, please.

Doesn't seem like a top contender in the early rumor mills, though. Which makes sense, as Cleveland doesn't have nearly enough weapons to run the sort of offense he was used to in Indy.

http://bleacherreport.com/articles/1...ounds-of-picks

his 2nd round is interesting..... big tackle from Stanford slips all the way to the top of the 2nd round.... saw him as high as #12 or #13 in 1st round

wouldn't mind seeing Alabama CB slipping .... saw him as high as #15 couple months ago...wonder what happened... didn't he get arrested for something minor? wouldn't concern me.

do you think that receiver from Georgia Tech (Stephen Hill) is a reach at the #22 slot and will be there in the early 2nd round? Heck Tommy Streeter of Miami Hurricanes (ran a 4.00 40 yd dash and he's big) will be there in the 4th round .... but no way do you wait to get your receiver in the 4th round unless you get a receiver in free agency.

Stephen Hill can out jump Streeter by 6.5 inches vertical .... broad jump him by a foot.........but can he catch the football better and run better routes?

Wiper,

I've gone thru my cathartic transformation the past 2 months. I've moved on from my Butch Davis, Quincy Morgan, Carmen Policy, Tim Couch fan bashing anger..... lets talk Browns football.

I will still have to root for other teams --like the Dolphins & Patriots-- because i know these guys aren't going to be winning any time soon, but i am a huge DRAFT DAY fan. My downfall is that I become attached to the players they draft even guys like Robiskie (....give 'em one more year!.....)

Someone talk draft with me.... i need help here. can't do it by myself. I need you experts..... if it was up to me i would make this team even worse.....I'd probably draft that guy from Georgia Tech and watch him drop 3 x's as many balls as Braylon and Greg Little combined.

or is everyone holding off till next week after free agency signing ???

anyone else get excited whenever they see carl posted in the cavs or browns or indians thread? basically, 'oh boy, what's he gonna be on now??!?' type stuff.. and he doesn't disappoint with the 'browns suck so i'll root for the pats and whoever gets peyton until the browns get good again' line..haha

for real man, you can really do that? i mean, i work with kids, so i understand how fast they can switch bandwagons (my usual question is: name 4 players on that team, gets 'em every time) but you're a grown man. doesn't it feel weird? i've always kinda felt like if you have a 2nd favorite team, you don't have a first favorite. i dunno

draft? i'm starting to feel like we're gonna get rgIII. i'm hoping it's just both 1's this year and a 2nd either this year or next. he's really starting to feel like a can't miss qb. sure, he'll take some time to grow and won't have anyone to throw to, but ever since that first pick in '99 we've been looking for a qb. hell, since bernie we've been looking for a qb. this is probably the time to go for it.

i keep worrying he'll get hurt, or won't pan out but then i remember this cat had a 72% completion rate (!!!) and broke all-time records for efficiency, so it isn't like he's mick vick or randall cunningham, he's a legit pocket passer who just also happens to run a 4.4 40. wow

if he starts from day 1, he will have arguably the worst set of skill position players in the league to work with, but i assume that will become the focus of every draft from now until he retires (okay, it's cleveland, until he leaves in free agency)...

if they don't move up, i want richardson. i know drafting an RB early is bad, but **** it. he's legit, and we got NUTHIN on offense. hell, i hope they go WR at 21 too. and then drop some FA dollars on another one.

so yeah, RGIII or bust.

i've said i didn't want to give up the farm for him, and i reserve the right to change my mind, but let's go get the cat.

hell, i was reading mock drafts/rankings earlier and there's one site that says he's actually a BETTER prospect with a HIGHER ceiling that luck.

i don't necessarily believe that, but hell, why not at this point? what's the worst that can happen? he doesn't pan out and we suck? gee, haven't been through that before.

ah **** it, i hope they go all in and get rg3. but they also have to upgrade at wr.

looking forward to the browns doing absolutely nothing in free agency.

RGIII has a lot of potential. I'd much prefer him to Manning. I don't even want Manning. He's old and broken and even if he's decent, he's only good for a few years. If we were a contender this year, I'd say get Manning and hope he's got his stuff still.

I don't want to sell the farm to get RGIII, though. I think he will be a solid QB, I watched him a decent amount and was impressed with his arm. I don't think his legs will be a huge threat in the NFL, but will be enough to at least escape trouble which is what I can hope for. Maybe he runs a few times and gets some yards too, but that's not why I want him. I want him throwing the ball. And he is super impressive there, super accurate, doesn't make many mistakes, and can light teams up. If he could do it with Baylor WRs (ok, against B12 defenses), he can do it with whatever the Browns can throw together.

figures just as soon as we all get onboard for rg3 he goes to washington. what a ****ing jinxed team and cursed city. wtf

makes me all the more pissy that we're gonna have another year of colt mccoy and his 4 yard check downs to the full back.

funny how things work, just a couple days ago i said there really wasn't anything the browns could do to **** up this draft other than give up the farm to move up. now, washington had to give up the farm to move up and i'm sitting here pissy.

trent richardson pls. and then michael floyd pls.

My boyfriend is a 'Skins fan. Watched Sports Center this morning, saw the news about the 'Skins jumping the Browns to grab the #2 pick and RG3, asked my boyfriend how he felt about giving up three 1st round and a 2nd round pick for RG3.

His response: "Who is RG3?"

If this guy turns out franchise I'm just going to be sick for years. Still, the 'Skins gave up A LOT to get him.

is there even a chance he doesn't now? ugh

that said, if we gave up the two 1sts this year, the 1st next year and more, i don't think i'd like that.

gotta make sure those picks work out now. blackmon/richardson then BPA at 21 and i won't be mad.

THAT said, rg3 is gonna dominate for years.

Probably.

But while not franchise, I do think it's early to call McCoy a bust or a failure. If he had some actual targets we'd have a better idea where things stand. Having the worst receiving corp in the league might be more important to fix than the QB situation this year. Even a great QB is going to look pretty damn bad with no one to throw to.

good points...also the O-line was banged up ---had rookie in there...pashos hurt, right side played not very well.... colt was rushed quite a bit all year.

organization has been basically lousy since the time they came back. i believe in the cleveland jinx

Wiper i hear what you are saying but..... i can name every player on browns and even many backups......also i'd die for my OSU buckeyes but i also root for many other college teams to win -- i even like some crappy teams like the ASU sun devils

spread yourself around it's more fun!

you like Michigan....what's that all about
