That schedule is unbelievably difficult. It'll probably take 9 wins or maybe even 8 to win the division.

gonna have to second this notion. That schedule is absolute DEATH. going into week 6 with only 1 win is very possible.

All of the AFC North will have trouble getting through their schedules but i still cant see the Browns being in the same position they were last year.

Prediction:

Steelers
Ravens
Browns
Bengals

Will someone please explain to me why everyone is blind to the giant O-line problem in Pittsburgh?? Big Ben was sacked 47 times last year, 2nd in the league next to Kitna. The Steelers did nothing in the offseason to fix this problem. Keep thinking Ben is gonna play well when his ass is in the dirt every sunday. The Browns finally figured out that "No O-line = losing." Apparantly the Steelers didn't learn the same thing. What was left of the Bill Cowher era is gone, Tomlin is an idiot and the effect of his dumb decisions will start to become apparent this season.

will make a bet on who ends up with more W's if u wish.

The simple fact is that all of the teams in this division have serious issues combined with hard schedules. Division essentially a crapshoot IMO

if the raven's d is healthy they could win the division whether they start boller or whoever else. seems like this race is wide open; the bengals may even have a decent shot

Because the Steelers didn't have an o-line problem, that's just what the idiots at ESPN keep saying. If you watch Big Ben play, he tries to make a ton of plays with his feet and scrambles outside the pocket where his line can't help him. He holds onto the ball much longer than any other quarterback in the NFL that I've seen. Now, I don't think this is necessarily a bad thing since he makes so many big plays through this strategy, but it does cause him to take many more sacks than he otherwise would.

If you look at the number of pocket sacks Roethlisberger took it really wouldn't be much more than the NFL average I'm guessing. The Steelers added a ton of weapons, which should allow more players to get open faster, which will help Roethlisberger get rid of the ball more quickly.

That being said, the Steelers' defense doesn't look like what it's been in past years, and with the toughest schedule in recent NFL memory, I don't think they'll have an astonishing year. The Browns also have a difficult schedule, but subbing in the Broncos and Bills in place of the Chargers and Patriots give them a real chance to be competitive in the division this year.

They did get Hartwig to hopefully replace Mahan. They let Faneca walk, who is a good player but didn't buy into the system last year. Everyone else has another year under the system, plus Marvel is healthy as of right now. I think it is very likely their line plays better this year, at least in pass protection.

The Browns didn't finally figure it out, they just finally had a year when the guys they brought in didn't get hurt and panned out like they had hoped. It does seem like they are going to try to win this year without a competent secondary. I think it is likely to get ugly for them if they play the Steelers or Bengals in good weather.

As far as the Steelers, who should they have gone after that they didn't? Do you think they should have reached for Duane Brown? Do you think they should have cut 8 million worth of other players to resign Faneca? It was a bad off season to acquire O-line talent, so they added the best players they could in other areas.

no, they didn't tie the steelers, they had the same record only because pitt rested its starters in the final game. They were swept by the steelers for like the 4th straight year or something
