Another great day for the south siders, Peavy looked great, CQ has heated up and even Becks had a shot today. All this with a classic Z meltdown, I would say its a good day.

ya that sucks. especially after pitching so well this past month. (had a lower era then cliff lee during it) the way he throws it always looked like he was gonna have arm problems down the road tho. so not too surprised.

Sox up 5-1 on Angels late....

The Peavy news kind of sucks, but I certainly think this team can keep winning without him. They are pretty deep when it comes to starting pitching.

I don't think I remember anyone ever being "hotter" than he has been the last few weeks. He, Beckham and AJ were non-existant for months and if they can keep it up this team could be unstoppable.

13 each remaining versus Det and Min means we control our own destiny. The winning ugly team of 83 was a lot like this one. Crappy start, scratch to 500 by break and role over everyone in second half primarily from superior starting pitching.

Hudson obviously didn't impress but I have faith that Peavy hole will some way be filled.

2nd time today I heard that 83 comparison. I was born that year so I dont remember it but I find the comparison interesting. I thought that team had good, but not great pitching, was their rotation top tier in the league?
I could look up the stats, but it sounded like you have seen it, so just curious on your take

LaMarr Hoyt, Richard Dotson and Britt Burns where the big 3 and all outstanding that year. I think Hoyt won Cy Young that season.
