maybe it won't continue, but Soriano is a different player so far. A handful of nice defensive plays, shorter swings with 2 strikes, hitting the ball to RF, taking walks. Only a week, but definitely positive signs.
Not sure how much more Marlon Byrd I can take though. He just completely forgot how to hit.
Byrd lost weight? he looks pretty heavy for a center fielder to me. Speaking of heavy, Soto ever hear of a diet?
Ian Stewart hits a ball that would of hit the rooftops any other day on Friday, along with another 2 other good at bats, and he rides the bench Saturday. LaHair, crushes his first homer, next day he is on the bench. WTF
it would be wise for cubs fans to stop paying attention to the W/L record and start paying attention to the individual success of the young players. consider this year a long tryout for 2013. the cubs have all but come out and said this is a rebuilding year and they're not expecting to win.
This is very true. It's hard though when you see a team that looks completely inept.
if they move him, they're going to eat a lot of money, no doubt. but that doesn't mean they can't do it. the problem is that it's really not worth it to move him and eat all that dead money unless you want to free up that spot for someone who can come in and be productive on a winning team.
the articles I read implied that he air-mailed it over the first baseman's head. does the angle make it look worse than it is? because that is just awful... I don't think I've ever seen someone miss that badly, that's nuke laloosh hit the mascot level
I don't know about the angle, but you know it's a bad throw when your first-baseman just turns his head and doesn't even attempt to move or reach for it, lol.
Solis has been a pleasant surprise so far this season and Soriano is actually looking like a baseball player out there. I'm dreading seeing Wood/Marmol come into this game though.
good times the last two days. I have watched the Garza gif approx 150 times. Sori's defense is just shocking so far. I know we're 3-5, but we're looking respectful.

The angle does nothing to sway it either way. It seriously was that bad. Pretty crazy how it basically cost him a CG too...sigh.
Having now watched Cubs games with the nationals broadcast team, brewers broadcast team and now marlins broadcast team this year, I can safely say that douche who does the white sox games is probably the most annoying homer broadcasting games on tv.
