We did. For Gaines Adams. Who else would give up a 2 for an about-to-be-declared bust?
they talked about adams on tv about 5 minutes after i posted

we really paid lots of money for those two? really?

omfg, we're paying them 10.2M combined.

why do you not get that the bears OL is simply horrendous? pace and williams might be the worst starting OT tandem in the league, without a doubt bottom 5. they cant run the ball because the blocking is absolutely ass

im sure you have your reasons for hating turner, and he may indeed be worthy of being fired. but blaming him for the lack of running success is stupid; the bears OL is really really really really really really really bad

Re: Chicago Bears - CUTLAHHHHH!

Smig, it's pretty hard to run the ball when you don't run the ball.

We have ran the ball less times than any other team in the league (32nd).
"Get off the bus running" my arse. Even Urlacher's piping up about us changing our Offensive identity, and how it's hurting.

But our run game is much worse this year, so we can't run, right?

2008 YPC: 3.9
2007 YPC: 3.1
2006 YPC: 3.8

This year, it's gotta be real bad though, right? 4.0 YPC. So...

Kahlil Bell needed carries after last week (and Wolfe before him) as Lovie promised he'd get. Bell got ZERO carries.

But our passing game's working though, right?
2 yards in the entire second half Sunday, say otherwise.

Re: Chicago Bears - CUTLAHHHHH!

Even with a bad O-Line, defences aren't able to load the box against Cutler like they did against Orton/Forte last year. I understand the blocking is LOL bad but the play calling disparity is clearly worse.

This is pretty much true. Although the lack of understanding what the O-line is good at and what they suck at is the play callers responsibility. Kruetz has been horrible all year, but at least half of Forte's carries rely on him getting a good block. Early in the year Omiyale was getting blown up on most runplays, but almost all of the runs were going to the left.

The Bears o-line needs alot. Still waiting to move Williams over to LT and Omiyale over to RT just to evaluate what they need and maybe improve, but why not just keep talking about how every game is a must win and how Orlando Pace is an all time great.

Also I'm pretty sure I'm going to spend all of next year rooting for the Bears fail to ensure that Lovie and Angelo are gone.

I can't wait for the yearly well we are banged up, but won't use that as an excuse. We will just keep drafting undersized guys in the fifth round and then bemoan about how unlucky we are they can't stay healthy.

HaHa so true. If cutler plays really well against Detroit...Lovie is probably safe and who knows about Turner. If that is the case....GG Bears

It does sound like Lovie is going to stay clear of the axe. Ownership would have had to have been embarrassed by the effort of the Bears finishing the season and last night probably sealed them not being too embarrassed.

Turner has pretty much no chance. Unless Cutler went to Virginia McCaskey and begged for Turner's job and I'm pretty sure that will never happen since they have not got along since day one.

Part of me believes Turner is gone no matter what, but who knows with the Bears?

Obviously, the Charlie Weis rumors are already swirling. I personally wouldn't mind it. The guy is a proven offensive coordinator.

Thoughts?

Re: Chicago Bears - CUTLAHHHHH!

By not calling timeouts during Minnesota's goal-to-go sequence in the 4th quarter of last night's game, Lovie has entered himself as a contestant in my discussion of "Worst NFL Game Managers". WTF Lovie, were you hoping they'd run out of time? They still had 2 TOs of their own FFS.

And then by calling a kneel from Cutler with 9 seconds and timeouts remaining and only needing a 35 yard play to give Gould a shot at a game-winner, he edged ahead of Brad Childress and Andy Reid in the competition.

Yea and that was one of the better managed games all year. The best part is the dumbass will come back by saying he didn't call timeouts because he was confident his defense would stop the Vikings.

Exactly. Lovie looks dazed and confused the vast majority of the time on the sideline. Seriously, I know he and Dungy subscribe to the 'calm and collected' approach to coaching, but I would like to have at least some confidence that he knows what down it is when the camera shows his face looking hopelessly into the distance.

This. Lovie'ss decision making can be so frustrating. I mean, why not leave time for a possible game winning drive? Whats to lose? Great win, but the win doesnt excuse the poor decision.....BEAR DOWN!

Dungy might be the most overrated coach in the history of football. Just throwing that out there.

Hmm, at first I was going to post disagreeing with you, but now that I'm actually posting, I can't think of anyone more overrated...

BTW, assuming Ron Turner gets the axe (if there is a god), thoughts on Charlie Weis as a candidate for the OC position? I know the hot dog vendors would see a significant spike in business should this happen...

Re: Chicago Bears - CUTLAHHHHH!

Let's hope da bears lose HUGE tomorrow. This is the biggest game they've played in a long time. If they go 7-9, finishing up strong, lovie's prob gonna be around a couple more years. Schwartzy's gotta start culpepper and let him throw all day, haha they're gonna resurrect his entire CAREER against this defense

Lose one game guys, and you get a new coaching staff. Bear Down, Lose BIG

Good luck losing to the Lions. Cutler's ability to throw interceptions will be limited by our defense's ability to catch them.

Re: Chicago Bears - CUTLAHHHHH!

The sick thing is, I actually enjoy watching them lose now. Only way to remain a Lions fan. I've become a connoisseur of terrible football and I'm used to rooting for a high draft pick instead of hoping the team makes the playoffs. Our Super Bowl is in April, Donkeykong Suh awaits.

Re: Chicago Bears - CUTLAHHHHH!

God this game is freaking depressing, 6-3 near the half versus the 2-win Lions.
Let's face it, last week was an aberation, the Offense is entirely broken.

Goodbye Ron. Good f***ing riddance.

EDIT: Now LOSING 10-6 to the Lions. Christ on a stick.

Okay. So where do we go from here? Mr. Turner almost certainly won't be resigned imo but sadly I'm starting to think Lovie won't get axed...

Cutler with 8 TD's in his final two games, Aromashodu caught 3 of them...that could be a beautiful relationship next season.

How far away is this team from contending for the division again?
