so gross.

this is actually a really good football team perfectly capable of notching 10 wins in a tough division but that line simply wont allow them too. or at least they are trying to hurt the team more than help. its gross.

The Bears have had ONE top 10 pick in the last ten years (and that would have been no different even if we'd had the Cutler drafts).

Just be grateful for the draft system rewards you for NFL-history levels of suckitude, and gives you access to the top 2 college prospects for half of the last decade, and that you finally stopped s***canning picks. Which, by the law of averages, any idiot would do eventually... Even a Detroit GM.

One of them was called Bryant "Mount" McKinnie (2009 Pro Bowler), but Angelo decided we had Frank Omiyale and Webb, so we didn't need him.

God Angelo needs his walking papers.

I think he's on about 4-5M this year, while he thinks Matt Forte isn't worth more than 600K. How he f***ing sleeps at night I'll never know.

It's really disgusting.

How stupid does he look now for cutting Kreutz?

Were not making the playoffs. They should use the season to experiment with fixing the OL and new offensive schemes.

who have the lions played this year that is actually a playoff caliber team? u trailed by 3 scores in 2 games by halftime (vikings/cowboys), and somehow managed to come back. im still not sold on the lions. still gotta see what they can do to elite teams

hm, i still think we can. our schedule gets super easy at the end of the season (minus SD/GB). i still think we can get 10 wins as crazy as it sounds, and hopefully that is enough to make post season.

next 2 games are MUST wins. if we lose 1 of the 2, i think the season is done. basically we have to go 8-3 or better from here on out. those 3 losses would come from GB/SD/and PHI (even though PHI is struggling, i still think they are the better team.) we should be able to beat the lions @ home, but what do i know..

But if we somehow luck into the playoffs, we have very little hope of going anywhere, and then we get to keep our entire staff because they "made the playoffs". Sounds awful to me

Oakland will be a tough game.

Look at the NFC picture right now, it's a cluster****. 9-7 might be good enough for the 6th seed...and if we beat the Bucs, we've got 2 tiebreakers in the bag.

PJo, even a bad playoff loss will cost people jobs around here. Cutler apparently went off in his press conference tonight; there will be changes upcoming one way or another.

Perhaps true, I just have a terrible feeling were in for a few years of garbage. There is literally too much to fix all at once and were wasting a terrific QB and a great RB both in their prime. Its pretty frustrating. Couple that with not having our #1 NBA team having a season atm and its a bad day to be a diehard chicago sports fan.

Can't sympathize with you there PJo, I kinda hate the NBA and I'm a diehard Flames fan so this is my only Chicago connection, lol.

Hey Frank Omiyale I support you man. I was in your position once... I was an awful football player too...Things probably wont get better for you, but lets hope they do because Jerry Angelo gave you 4 year deal worth 14 million with a 5.5 million dollar signing bonus...Can't wait!

i don't want to be mr overreact guy but really, let's look at some stuff.

the d is fading- the front 4 is nowhere near dominant anymore
linebackers are still strong but definitely aging
safeties are playing pretty poorly

offense
-shipped off olsen cuz they couldn't utilize him enough to justify his pay- as opposed to adjusting the scheme for a strength
wr- where the hell is knox? williams is a scab, bennett is hurt, hester will always be a work in progress, sensenbacher looks promising.

qb- i believe in the cutler.
rb- forte is underpaid and going to be demanding top dollar this off season- hopefully they'll pay up.

offensive line- just a flat out disaster. no cohesiveness, no leadership (kreutz). Last night looked like a jailbreak on every snap.

looking forward i don't even know where you draft to shore up these problems. Obv we're going to need strong o linemen in early rds, but WR is a major issue as well and that's not even addressing the aging defense.

this might be a rough rough road for the next couple of years- and the damage done at that point to cutler both physically and mentally may be irreperable in terms of him staying a semi elite qb.

****in angelo and tice, good lord.

anyone else suprised they went for it on 4/1 w/in fg range early last night? seemed silly to not take points on the road and gamble a run there against a front that has just been raping your oline.

Yeah I didnt understand the 4th and 1, and I didnt understand how he managed to use 2 timeouts and challenge the most obvious result ever.

Re: Forte
I love the man, but sadly they cant just dump money to him the offseason. It would be better served moving that money around to find other pieces.

There has got to be at least 2 guys playing in the cfl who would be better.

I told my brother this last night; they've got one more year as a big play/ok overall unit at best; this year might be the one more year

offense

wr- where the hell is knox? williams is a scab, bennett is hurt, hester will always be a work in progress, sensenbacher looks promising.

I liked olsen, but he's not elite, did we get anything for him?

qb- i believe in the cutler.
rb- forte is underpaid and going to be demanding top dollar this off season- hopefully they'll pay up.

I love forte, they're going to lowball him, I hope he leaves if they do; we're going to be cincinnati in 5 years because the mccaskeys are such cheap bastards

offensive line- just a flat out disaster. no cohesiveness, no leadership (kreutz). Last night looked like a jailbreak on every snap.

at the start of the game, when they show the starters and their colleges... not one ****ing guy from the big 10/big 12/sec. I think 2 of them played I-AA.

imo you generally draft o-linemen (no one's dumb enough to let good ones go) and sign WRs as free agents; I'm still pissed they didn't go for faneca a couple years ago but Idk how he's playing currently

****ing ******ed... let DET get away with taking all those defensive penalties in one drive and not paying for it. way to utilize our pro bowl kicker in a ****ing dome

3rd rounder for olsen, when you look at this wr class tho, it'd be hard to argue that olsen wouldn't be the best receiver on the field for chi.
