Wow Vikes.

This is the Vikes team we got no cred for destroying on the road last week. And they're handling the Eagles on the road.

Hold up. Plleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeease.

Boom! And since it's a foregone conclusion that the Falcons are going to choke at home vs either the Saints/Packers/Giants/Eagles, now the Bears have the de facto home field advantage all the way to the Super Bowl. That's right, the road to Dallas now goes through Chicago, it's science, woohoo.

Vikes you kick ass. You have never sucked less than tonight.

Who'da thunk we'd be thanking the Lions and Vikes on back-to-back weeks.

Now keep to your word Lovie and play the starters. Knock the Packers out before we have the week off.

Merry ****ing christmas bears fans. I think I'd rather see the Pack/Eagles than Pack/Bears anyway.

and oh btw this is going to make beating the Packers on Sunday about 1156 times sweeter because of the following February conversation:

--Hey, Packers guy!
--eh?
--remember that time we beat you to knock you out of the playoffs?
--which time?
--Wow, that's actually a good question. I mean the last regular season game of 2010? And you just needed to win? At home? Favored by a touchdown? And we had absolutely nothing to play for? So we rested Cutler the whole second half?
--oh, right.
--and we played Hester at QB? And Peppers smiled a lot and it looked like he had 48 teeth? Remember that?
--please stop.
--And then we won anyway? And that's how your season ended? And it happened even though the game was totally meaningless to us?
--omg
--And then Rogers got his fourth concussion and Urlacher took his imaginary WWF belt from his numb twitching body and then whipped him with it? Remember? And it was the same year that the corpse of Favre finally retired after disgracing himself with pictures of his mummified pin dick? And then it was ****ing freezing the whole rest of the winter?
--LALALALA LOMBARDI LOMBARDI NITSCHKE MAJIKOWSKI GORMAN THOMAS LA LA CHEEEEEEEESE
--enjoy the offseason man! brrr! And don't look now but I think Young Money just missed another eight shots!

It depends what you think about Packers/Giants/Bucs @ Eagles...if the Eagles win that game, then as the #3 seed they are travelling to Chicago no matter what else happens.

depending on Vick's health etc, I think the Eagles would be favored at home against the Giants and Bucs by, what, 5.5-8 points?

But most likely the Eagles are going to play the Packers, and I dunno, I think the Packers might even be a slight favorite in that game on the road, too many variables to say for sure.

If the Eagles lose to anybody, then yeah, we get the winner of the Saints @ Rams/Seahawks.

Not to look too far ahead, but I actually like the #2 seed for a few reasons:
1. I'd rather play the Saints/Eagles than Packers/Giants in the first game
2. It sets up the possibility of an epic Bears vs Packers NFC Championship on Sunday January 23 in the snow and sod of Soldier Field
3. The Falcons are good but not terrifying, a description that pretty much fits the whole NFC. Granted, a peaking Packers team is pretty scary, but they're the Packers and we'd be at home so giddyup.

...that could be an epic national day of football, especially if the AFC Championship is similarly marquee, like say Patriots/Colts or Patriots/Steelers

but all this is (probably) moot if the Bears beat the Packers on this Sunday; of course we always want to beat the Pack but tbh it's not a catastrophe if we lose this week, mostly I hope we just get through 100% healthy and 75% confident.

Fun fact, the Bears are dead last in the NFL in pass attempts. Don't think anybody was predicting that going into the year.

(To be fair, sacks aren't officially counted as pass attempts and Cutler has been sacked A LOT. If sacks were counted, this would move them up a bit, but they'd still be very close to the bottom.)

Id be interested to see how this relates to total time of possesion. We very rarely seem to have very long drives and we very rarely seem to keep the other team from having very long drives

Also helps to have a game with 16 passing attempts and 40 rushing attempts because your QB didn't play and your back-up blows.
