2 weeks in a row Fox punts on 4th and 2 in the second half in opponent territory and both times his O never gets closer to scoring again.

Suppose we know why. However if hes so hurt he cant throw the ball I dont see how it reflects well on the entire staff that he still plays another 2 quarters

so fire everyone? is that the correct knee jerk reaction to this game?

god like alshon and trevathan only two players worth a damn this game. ok and freeman is 3, but man a lot of guys were just awful tonight.

They suck so bad

I wish we were rebuilding. I wish we had a QB in development. I wish they woulda kept Gase and got rid of Fox.

I just see no way they can be good even in a couple of years? There is certainly no hope right now and the future looks bleak.

Willie young?

But yeah

Royal and white looked fine. Not much to do with no OL and no QB and no RB

It's pathetic to be as bad at home as the beloved have been the last few years. You just can't get your teeth knocked in against a rookie qb in your home opener.

I hate the day after when I find myself defending Cutler.

This coaching staff & GM are pathetic, they have no long term plan, the play calling & decision making is awful.

The OL is the root problem. Any QB or RB can look "good" with a great OL. Unfortunately our OL might be the worst ever assembled. No QB or RB would be able to do anything behind them. That said our QB and RBs are mediocre at best.

Not even the worst Cutler has had in chicago. Not even close. This line is above average for him here.

White has zero clue how to play WR yet, it's really annoying watching this.

I don't know who's making pace winging it but it's obvious we're totally winging this. The bears have this complex where they can't pay someone top dollar who isn't the best at their position, without realizing they have plenty of $ and the next guy is a clear downgrade talent wise. so ????????. Someone up there is pure business and dgaf about anything else. Got to be maddening dealing with that. At least the packers are winging it themselves, cut a guard for $ disputes when they didn't need to and traded up to take a LT in r2 and then just extended theirs for big $ so ????? Got to do things so baffling nobody figures you out I guess.

Alshon probably wants out of here as fast as possible but he's probably gonna get tagged again.

Howard should probably get a crack at starting RB. I'm not sure I'd roster either Carey/Langford but they're cheap and you have to be cheap somewhere.

I'm just disappointed the bears have to learn that Floyd isn't a pass rusher the hard way. He can't turn like all the good speed ones and doesn't have the power. NFL hasn't figured this out with pass rushers yet cause old school scouting or whatever crap. Square peg, round hole. Bust edition.

If they had gone mccown as a stopgap for the next guy they could've bought so much talent with Cutler's money. That was really the decisive moment in the last few years. Their roster has seemed so thin in recent years, and forte should've been allowed to wear the uniform til the wheels came completely off

This team has drafted so poorly for so long that it will take a solid management team a good 5 years to undo it all. Unfortunately, Emery is seeming to be the type that holds on to bad picks for way too long.

QFT

This team doesn't sniff the playoffs till 2018 at the earliest, but even that is hard to imagine.

The worst part is the giant step back they have taken since that post.

The 2015 & 2016 drafts already look worse than the 2014 draft did at that point.

The defense has remained terrible, the offense has massively regressed, kicking game is worse and every week you know there will be a terrible in game decision that costs the team points.

The only direction this management seems to have is backwards.

Is the NFL nuts? 2 primetime games in a row!? This good because I hate it when they play primetime. I like Sunday noon football. If tonight is anything like I expect they will be banned from primetime for about 5 years which I would enjoy. Or even better, exiled to London games! That way they could play in the morning which would even be better than noon

floyd's game not bad at all tonight at least. Just maybe he'll get there someday.

We're on the path to firing everyone again and starting over again.

sluss basically summed it up. We're worse in all phases somehow than last season.

why is gase not running this dumpster fire instead of fox

anybody ever figure out how you let a guy that was that highly scouted, was clicking with a qb and ready to move into a HC job just walk out from underneath you?

at least jay cutler would've thrown the ball to alshon on 4th down there. Went on a rant about it in the gameday thread, all the colts over the middle, fans were closer to alshon than 10 of the 11 colts, throws it over the middle. There was no reason to even look there given defensive look and he THREW it there.

Hoyer's stat lines have been good but when it's a key 3rd down/critical play he manages to **** me off.

Hoyer is gonna be our starter rest of the year obviously though. Tanking wiser for kizer.

Talent evaluation?

Cutler goes down - Hoyer better
Langford goes down - Howard better
White goes down - Meredith better

If guys keep getting hurt we might end up with a decent team
