felt like a big loss and a big waste

plenty of questions about events surrounding the fake punt (are they supposed to even rush the punter in the first place? and sorry but couldn't they have seemed a little more prepared for the fake itself?? just felt like such an obvious spot for a fake), but one thing I didn't hear mentioned was how KPL only collided with the punter because he appeared to get shoved/deflected into him. Excuses excuses, but man, that was a huge penalty.

Eh whatever, Raiders got hosed in a couple spots too and more importantly the Bears looked like they were getting plain outworked all over the place; the whole rhythm of the game was weird and most of that was because the Raiders just took it to us, the end.

Going into the bye 3-2 seems not actually good? Long way to go, and parity is a thing, but of the eleven games left the bears are prob gonna be dogs in ~seven of them and >4.5pt favorites in maybe two. Imo Bears defense is too legit for season to mega-implode, but suddenly it feels like there are a dozen ways the playoffs could slip away in a hurry. Big loss today!

Based on our schedule and how the packers are doing, I think we are in pretty rough shape. Looking like wasting goat defenses again, nothing new to Chicago

The O line is pathetic. D looked real bad too as they just got gashed. I think they just weren't prepared for the time change and London bs. The Raiders got over there early and were ready to play. The Bears weren't. But no matter what the O line sucks.

They are done

Pace has proven to be a bad evaluator of talent.

Nagy is NOT an offensive genius. He is a ridiculously bad play caller.

Trubisky is useless unless given the ability to use his full skill set which includes A LOT of running both designed and free lance scrambles. Even then he is just a little less useless.

The offensive line is substandard and it would be hard for any QBs or RBs to perform well behind it.

No Hicks clogging up the middle makes the defense surprisingly vulnerable to the run. The DBs have trouble covering if the pass rush isn't getting home.

Back to the drawing board Replacements at GM, Head Coach and QB are probably needed unless some things change drastically very quickly. You would think after coming off of a bye that would have been this week if it ever was going to.

GB, MIN and DET are all much better right now and it isn't even debatable.

A tale as old as time. Bad draft results. Terrible offense. Lame coaching. Welcome to Chicago football

The Chargers game, jesus christ berries. bad quarterback, bad kicker, bad offense, bad play calls, idiot head coach. Same as it ever was in chicago.

Nagy is really not looking good right now, making huge playcalling mistakes and seems unwilling to even admit it, which doesn't bode well for him at least learning from them. His postgame press conference where he tried to explain taking a knee at the end was just embarrassing.

Wtf was his logic? That was straight trash

He basically said that running the ball was not an option there because they'd just lose 3-4 yards or fumble, and throwing was not an option because sacks and interceptions. I mean I get not having a ton of confidence in this offense, but geez...

Mitchell appears continually more and more dejected in his pressers week by week. This team isn't entertaining on Sundays but at least they are bringing the LOLs to the podium.

I'm ready to be let down by our Mariota & Trubisky QB room next year.

The Adam Shaheen experiment can finally die now. Just cut him already, woof. The entire year he's been awful.

OL has taken a huge step back this season too, Leno's played soft as hell some games. Long was a complete turnstile before he went on IR. They finally moved Daniels off Center. There's some improvement to go forward just simply from not playing some guys in some spots.

The o line has been an absolute mess all year.

They don’t sell play action, they just stand up and start pass blocking. The linebackers are not fooled at all and the middle of the field is clogged. It kills the running game as well because you can read the run as well and the linebackers and safeties are coming downhill.

Heistand was the OL coach at ND where they always spit out top prospects on the line every year it seemed and it's incredible how poorly coached this OL is. He was there last year and he coached Olin Kreutz for a couple years in there in chicago a long time ago. I don't get it.

You are right about them instantly tipping off pass/run even on play action--it's embarrassingly bad; they're confused all the time too on regular blitzes/stunts who they're supposed to pick up. They play to stand there and try to catch and they're loafing all the ****ing time.

I get they've all checked out but god it's trestman tirefire 2.0.

Am I the only person who's actually okay with the Kmet pick, even if it was technically a reach?

Also hi everybody! Long time no post, but good to see our beloved Bears are still a tire fire

Always and forever a tire fire. Looking forward to enjoying a top 5 defensive performance and a bottom 1/3rd offensive performance. Fingers crossed it gets us a playoff berth and another one and done in the playoffs to secure Pace's contract extension and mediocrity longterm.

Don't hate this draft at all given what we had, going double defense in round two probably gets you a better player than KMET, but realistically we could not dump both high picks into our D. If Mooney can be an impact player day 1, and take snaps away from Wims, it will look pretty good. Gotta love the patented Ryan Pace trade a future pick into the current year strat happening again.

Still low on our chances in 2020, zero faith in Nick Foles ability to be available for 12+ games this year. Let alone actually lift the O when he is out there.

wow a geddy lee post

we're not a tire fire if our head coach ever figures out a certain quarterback has only a 50/50 shot at best to make the correct read on a simple read option and never run them again instead of 4+ times every game.

so we'll be running them with nick foles probably

Kmet is certainly reasonable because our TE depth chart is a pile of garbage but I would've preferred OL. We'll see who's right in the end I guess.

second CB certainly was a hole defensively but OL didn't get addressed whatsoever, the tackles better go back to 18 not 19 season play next year.

Wims is a dude who flashes here and there but can't catch the damn ball.

Feel you on Oline, but I'm not sure what you could do to solve tackle in this draft? Is there anyone beyond Cleveland you could have gotten there? I don't think he will be starter quality year one. The contracts on those tackles really kill us in 2020.

LOL Lions

That was simultaneously the most disappointing Bears loss and exciting Bears W in a long long time.

Gunna be a rough season y'all. Two bottom 10 teams out there today.

Mooney and Johnson both looked like NFL players out there. Ridley being a healthy scratch is such a disappointment.

Actually I have a theory about Mitch. They always say how good he looks in practice. Since no crowds is pretty much like practice I think he will finally mature into a decent player this year. Took him a while to get going today but he rocked when it really counted.

every year there is an early game the bears do not deserve to win and one or two the lions just blow it somehow.

Defense was so so at best is the bigger problem than whatever the first three quarters of trubes was jeez. OL looked good much better than last season. Half that Def is paid, none of them stood out, wasn't any sort of pass rush till very late in the game. (okay mack got held and they didn't call it a few times)

Rookie got owned by Marvin Jones a few times but that's expected vs a good veteran receiver.

Jimmy Graham's first half was worse than Trubes, woof. I think the best TE we've had in the last 4 or 5 seasons was one of those undrafted limited guys they probably cut this year in camp. Graham put up stats but man he's basically a TE who boxes out defenders to get balls and that's it at this point.

Meh graham was rusty but I think he’ll be a positive.

Arob got PId twice imo, once in the end zone. Those hurt early offense.

No excuse though. That game was a real rough way to start. Lions also dropped a couple that were easy picks.

First opener win since 2013 is kinda gross
