Trubs best throw of the night was the one to arob down 16-15 to get them in FG range, rest of the game was pretty bad, not turning the ball over and losing with this defense just shouldn't happen period. Weird **** all over that game. He just struggles too much when the first designed read isn't there. I don't know how to improve that, feels like one of those you either have it or you don't QB things.

This team just reminds me too much of 2001/2006, a dominant defense, suspect offense, ran hot (nobody important got seriously hurt except Kyle Long for a stretch), and then didn't make the playoffs for years afterward. I hope that's not the case this go around,we might lose Fangio to the broncs. We have no draft picks and might not get a real free agent this offseason, ie, unless Trubs improves we're going backwards even tho the division is definitely still there for the taking with the mediocre vikes, whatever the packers are now, and the lions never change.

It's also added frustration seeing say Mahomes when his college film was better and well now it's definitely better.

Trubs is already too old for the NFL to still be a project, it's put up time. Winston/Mariota are less than a year older. I hope he does, I just don't see it is all. Whatever.

Yup, I have to echo all of that. Mostly the fangio and no major injuries made this the year to get it done. Prob back to 8-8 next year with a mack/hicks/fuller/Howard/trubes injury or something. I'm still butt hurt.

Thirded. That was ****in brutal. A wide open playoff race, I really thought we were gonna make it to the NFC ship at a minimum...

Trubes finally gave me hope that he might be good enough to get us there again.

otoh as Wheat noted we have a 24 year old QB who was only good enough to start 1 ****ing year in college. maybe he'll continue to improve... sigh. he still does too much stupid ****, still gets happy feet and frankly the Eagles inability to catch bailed him out because the narrative could have been very different.

I don't know how the D is situated salary cap wise but they should be just as good next year, praying that we keep Vic.

ldo but next year will tell the tale. let's see how we do against a first place schedule. I'm guessing Nagy won't ever turtle again like he did in the first half. We also need to figure out how to use Jordan Howard... or we could just nakedly copy NO. yeah, that would be sweet

We are going to use Jordan Howard to acquire a middle round draft pick.

.
Watson was our guy as the third pick. That is who you have to compare Trubs to. And I think Watson is still ahead. Mahomes only was a great pick because he went to Andy Reid.

Trubisky missed two games, Mack missed two games. Long actually cost them early in that game with his inability to even slow down Fletcher Cox. They were better against Donald without him.

Love Fangio, he deserves a HC gig. But this defense has a ton of talent it is not all scheme based. As long as they find a a good guy that doesn't try and shoehorn guys into bad spots they will be fine. I think I trust Nagy to pull that off.

Really hurts that they get the Eagles there. Happiest team after that game had to be the Rams. Their Super Bowl equity went through the roof with that Eagles win.

Nagy as a play caller spent a lot of time protecting this team from turning the ball over and tried to put other teams in a position where they had to go a long field against the Bears D and it took away some of the early season aggressiveness. That I think cost them against an Eagles team that struggled on defense if you aggressively attack them down field.

I still feel pretty confident in this team. Nagy is a good coach and that is half the battle in the NFL. They still have almost everyone you want under contract and they are a fairly young team on the average.

I'm sure Prince George will find a way to get his panties in a bunch over something and blow this up at some point.

It's almost here! Bears/Packers opening night. Opening night is generally hosted by the previous years Super Bowl Champs. I am glad the NFL recognized that the Bears shoulda won it all Can't wait until we do it for real this year!

DA BEARS!

I am very excited to see where this year takes us. Hopefully not a repeat of last year's opener

I think Bears -3 line is being generous to the Packers. A lot of people think this Bears team has title equity. I’m ignoring everything that happened the past decade. I guess I should consider what happened last year and the fact that the Packers are freed from Mike McCarthy. I feel like the Bears should be -6 or -7.

Bright side? Defense is still great! Plus they started 0-1 last year too after a second half melt down.

I hope Nagy/Trubs can figure this out though because the offense looked worse than bad. If the primary is covered Trubs is done. I thought he may progress a little more this year but he still can't read the field very well. It's a shame to waste this defense with this offense.

Next week will be tough in Denver. Fangio likely knows EXACTLY how to attack Trubs and this offense as well as the exploitable points in the defense. Plus it will be hot at altitude and these guys didn't even play in the preseason and aren't in shape for that. Denver at home in September is tough because road teams can't handle the heat/altitude.

Every single time Trubisky moves and throws to his left the throw is wildly off. Usually overthrown.

Half this offense looked like things you do with college freshmen.

After watching Denver suck last night I am feeling a little more confident about this week. The D should eat Flacco for lunch. I just hope Nagy/Trubs can have a better offensive approach. If Carr can keep clean and pick em apart Trubs should be able to as well. Just hope the altitude/heat doesn't hurt them.

Just hope its not like the Miami game last year, where our D looks overheated and gassed and we lose when we really shouldn't

But we found a kicker!!!!!!!!! Until he misses in a key spot

That was really ugly and lucky. This week I believe they unleash Maserati Mitch and we see the offense we have all been hoping for. If not I will be in full panic mode on both Trubisky and Nagy. I think they both deserve equal blame for how bad the offense has looked. The receivers haven't exactly be running free and Nagy surely isn't "scheming" them open. The O line looks worse than hoped for as well.

The defense is still great although they were totally gassed at the end in the altitude. Offense has to step up soon or its gonna be a lost season and back to the drawing board.

Does anyone understand nfl scheduling? We have to play the rams away and the saints. No other team in our division has to play either.

You play:

6 games against division opponents
4 games against your cross conference division (AFC West)
4 games against your same conference division (NFC East)
2 games against teams in the other two same conference divisions (NFC South and NFC West) that finished in the same place in the division last year.

So Minnesota gets Atlanta and Seattle. Green Bay gets Carolina and San Francisco. Detroit gets Tampa Bay and Arizona.
